Very articulate and detailed discussion. This is really a small example of what is happening in much of India right now . What I really liked what the attention on the average person who lives in Ayodhya and how they have been sadly neglected. Sunilji mentions that they no longer have a voice to protest. He could also have mentioned that much govt money was spent on the temple which is the private project of a trust. This is a typical example of the planning and execution of work done by "VERY INTELLIGENT PEOPLE " He says that the development of this town could have been done slowly and properly over 7 or 8 years. WHAT WAS THE HURRY? Sadly we all know the answer. The title is misleading because when rich people go to Ayodhya, they will not be purchasing from the thelas. and tiny gumchas. They will purchase from ac shops and live in AC hotels. In fact the charm of Ayodhya was the tiny shops selling small idols, flowers and trinkets now sadly gone . Thousands of people have been impoverished and thousands more inconvenienced. The main road is now 3 or 4 feet above the level of houses. The monsoon waters now run into the houses. I saw this in Lucknow too. What an irony that India sends a vehicle to the moon but cannot build good roads. If you do go to Ayodhya, also visit the tombs of the Begums of Faizabad. There are many ancient homes, temples and ghats that need repair and loving care . We need lots of walking tours such as those in Ahmedabad to really enjoy this quaint and ancient town.

Who ever may be in Government it should do for the local people should expense public money judiciously.
