  1. They played this at my middle school graduation😭😭😭😭😭 the way it made me feel like it was made just for me and everybody else felt the same. It makes me cry now😂😭😂

  2. Whenever I hear this song, I wonder how life would be if I got old. It gives me a weird nostalgic feeling of being young yet old at the same time.

  3. I remember when my youngest sister was born. I was only 8, but I felt like I was like a second mother to her, I helped feed her, I helped change her, I bathed her, dressed her, I played with her, I layed down in her crib with her until she fell asleep. I was too young myself to realize how precious all those moments were, and how quickly she would grow up…now she’s 12 and in middle school, I’m 21 and finishing college, and I babysit little kids part time. When the youngest boy crawls in my lap while I read his bedtime story, and then asks me to lay with him and hold his hand in his crib until he falls asleep, it reminds me so much of my little sister and how fast she grew up. I see him and all my other kids sleeping so peacefully, and I wish I could just freeze time for them and my little sisters and protect them from the world and let them keep their innocence forever. I know I can’t, and I want them to grow up and live full, happy lives, but whenever I look at them so relaxed and happy with so much love, I wish I could just keep them carefree, stress-free, sweet little kids forever, and I think of this song. I miss those days with my little sister every day, I had no idea how fast she would grow, and even as she’s becoming a teenager now, I want to just let her stay right where she is and not have to grow up any more. Every year that goes by, this song means more to me. It’s hard to imagine she wrote this when she was only 19, but I think it’s fitting that she got the chance to re-record it in her 30s when she’s the biggest pop star in the world. Even with all the fame and money she has all these years later, the line “I just realized everything I have is someday gonna be gone”…I don’t know, it just hits me more somehow. Even with all her accomplishments, being one of the biggest, most influential and successful musicians of all time, someday it will all be gone, and at the end of the day, these little moments are what we’re really going to miss. Makes me think of her song Marjorie, and how she wished her grandmother lived to see how her dreams she always pushed her to follow finally came true. People can say what they want about her, but she has some pretty powerful songs. Her most powerful ones often feel like the most overlooked ones, but they’ll stick with me for a long time.
