I like the 1975, but I am a huge Taylor Swift fan. I hope Matty is able to make a good record despite his inability to accept responsibility for his very real ''I love you, you know who you are, I love you'' relationship and the backlash he received for saying a bunch of racist things. That's all on him. That's not anyone else's fault.
Meanwhile and more importantly, Taylor's Anthology with 4 bonus songs comes out in November so we have that to listen to. And releasing 35 brilliant, truthful, artistic, devastating songs about her life during that time is the win. If he wants to not be associated with her, he just needs to stop bringing it up, and just produce some good music already!
We've all accidentally or blindly slummed it, perhaps in a rebound or altered state, and this was Taylor's slummin' it. Watch him use it for his benefit for the next decade as he fades into oblivion. I wouldn't know who he is if not for Taylor, and now that I know, I'd like to forget. He's gross, and trying to save an already wretched Reputation.
