I know I’m really, really late in the game with this post, but it is so sweet that the house members all just let Frankie sit and talk about his grandpa and share his memories with them. Sometimes that’s what you need most, someone to listen. The love in that room is beautiful! And yes, cancer is a BITCH!
I can relate pretty well to Frankie in this moment. When my grandmother passed, from cancer and hypothermia, she was all the way in Minnesota. And we thought she was getting better. So I get how it feels to think that, you know, they'll pull it back. They always do. And when they group hugged, I knew he was going to end up crying again, because no matter how put together you try to act… no matter how many jokes you crack to try and distract yourself… when someone hugs you, it opens that dam that you try and build. When someone hugs you while you're that overwhelmed with emotions, it's like they're saying 'it's okay not to be strong' and that just… breaks any will you have to stay strong, at least, while they're hugging you.
