A Poem by Roy Lessin

Before you were born,
I knew you by name;
before you turned toward Me,
I called to you;
before you set your heart to seek me,
My heart was seeking yours;
before you turned your thoughts toward Me,
My thoughts were turned toward you;
before you set your love upon Me,
My love was set upon you;
before you came to Me,
I ran to you;
before you called me Abba, Father,
I called you My child.

“I am poor and needy; Yet the LORD thinks upon me.” Psalm 40:17 (NKJV)

“How comforting the promise of His abiding thoughtfulness.”—Charles P. Wiles
