Menzies Aviation is continuing the roll-out of new cargo software that it hopes will create efficiencies in its cargo handling operations.

The expansion will see the handler deploy the Wipro Menzies Aviation Cargo Handling (MACH) cargo management system at 28 additional stations in 2025.

This follows the successful roll-out of MACH across 24 locations in 2024, spanning four continents, including major airports such as Auckland (AKL), Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), and OR Tambo International (JNB).

MACH is a cloud-based cargo management system that claims to streamline operations and improve efficiency by providing real-time data and integrating with other systems to improve data accuracy and simplify processes.

The system also operates from a “single source of truth”, which helps reduce errors and automate many routine tasks.

The system has already handled over 150,000 tonnes of cargo and is expected to be used by more than 3,000 users. More than 600 Menzies staff are already trained to use the system.

Rory Fidler, senior vice president of cargo technology at Menzies Aviation, said: “We’re excited to move into the second phase of the MACH roll-out, bringing the system to an additional 28 locations. The first phase has demonstrated the system’s ability to improve cargo handling, and we look forward to extending its benefits to more of our customers.”

Omkar Nisal, managing director of Wipro Limited for the UK & Ireland region, noted that the system’s automation and data visibility allow Menzies to handle more shipments with fewer resources, improving turnaround times and reducing costs.
