Masters Of Death wasn’t the light read I first thought it was going to be.  It is a philosophical paranormal mystery that delves into deeper themes, particularly the nature of choices.

Viola Marek is a vampire and a real estate agent barely making ends meet. Her latest challenge? Selling a haunted house. The resident ghost, who was murdered, is determined to uncover the truth behind his death before he moves on.

To solve the problem, Viola turns to Fox D’Mora, a medium and notorious fraud who, surprisingly, has some real connections—like being Death’s godson.

As Fox gets pulled into the chaos of the haunted house, he and Viola find themselves on an unexpected mission. With a mischievous poltergeist, a demon fitness trainer, a snarky angel, a lovesick reaper, and a cast of other eccentric supernatural allies, they soon realize that the line between a mysterious lost love and a pesky ghost isn’t as clear as they thought.

This one took me a minute to get into due to the writing style, but I ended up really enjoying the quirky characters and watching their stories unfold. The pacing was a bit slower than I expected, but ultimately, the story wrapped up well and left me thinking. At its core, it’s about truths, lies, and the choices we make. I love a story I can dig into and reflect on, and this one definitely delivered.
