Reader Question – The book about the baseball player that becomes obsessed with a married woman…

Casey is looking for this one! Ohhhhh spicy!!!! Does he become problematic? I’m thinking the “obsessed” might be a stalker-ish obsession since she mentions dark romance?

She asks:

I’m looking for a fiction/dark romance book, I originally read it maybe 2010ish, found at a used book store.

I believe the male main character is a baseball player and he meets and becomes obsessed with the female heroine, I think she was also married. They end up having an affair and he becomes more and more obsessed with her, I can’t remember how it ends but I don’t think it’s a happy ending.

The cover had an illustrated couple on it, I think the man was depicted in his baseball uniform. In my memory the man’s name was Angel and he was Hispanic.

I’m not sure if that’s something I’ve just convinced myself of or if it’s actually true. I have been searching for years for this book, I’ve googled and Chat GPTed the heck out of it and I can’t find anything.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?? I would be forever grateful.
