An Irish woman is among nine people arrested after Spanish police busted what they have described as a ‘Breaking Bad’ designer drug laboratory in Granada.
Drugs including speed, ketamine, MDMA (ecstasy), amphetamines, hallucinogenic mushrooms and LSD were all produced and processed at what is believed to be the largest designer drug laboratory ever found in the province.
The laboratory that was hidden within an industrial warehouse in the city of Atarfe was dismantled by the Civil Guard who believe that it was a major facility for the production of designer drugs.
Eight people were arrested as “alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health for drug trafficking” while another is being held for “belonging to a criminal group”.
Among the detainees, almost all of them Spanish, are three women, of whom one is of Irish nationality and the other, Panamanian.
The Civil Guard has so far seized four kilos of methamphetamine; 1.5 of amphetamine; nine litres of liquid ketamine; 500 grams of solid ketamine; 400 of MDMA; 818 doses of ecstasy; one kilo of LSD; 1.5 of MDMA rock; 32 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms; 50 millilitres of poppers and 1,357 grams of hashish.
