How To Spend Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Miles
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan uses dynamic award pricing but still offers some good value partner awards.
Three tips to make the most of airline miles.
Most legacy carriers worldwide reward their frequent flyers through membership options. Some of the most famous include Emirates Skywards, Air France-KLM’s Flying Blue, and British Airways’ Executive Club. Here are some tips and tricks :
- See if your airline has partnerships with hotels: in the case of Flying Blue, they partner with the French hotel group Accor. This means you can boost your Air France or KLM miles with each stay if you are an ALL Accor member. And vice versa, when you fly on a SkyTeam airline, you also earn ALL points, which can help pay for your next stay.
- Be on the lookout for promotions: most airlines have a dedicated page showcasing award flight deals. The flights sometimes have a 25% or even 50% reduction. This is the case for Alaska Airlines, as mentioned in the article, and even Delta Air Lines, which has a dedicated page for SkyMiles users to find deals for destinations worldwide.
- Buy miles: This is only useful if you already have a specific award flight in mind but do not have the right balance to purchase it immediately. It isn’t recommended in most cases, but if you want to know more about how to best go about this process, we have written a detailed article, which you can read here.
How To Earn Emirates Skywards Miles
While flights will be your primary source, Emirates has plenty of partners globally too.
Bottom line.
Being a frequent flyer with a carrier comes with many perks. As Alaska Airlines just proved, you can take advantage of exciting deals. To benefit from them, readers must regularly stay updated. For instance, you keep a tab on our loyalty articles, which are periodically published. Here, you will find all the essential news about promotions, limitations, etc… But it would be best if you also kept up to date with your airline. They regularly update their membership websites and send out emails with different deals. That way, you can fly off to your dream destination for a fraction of the cash price.
