Pitchfork Music Festival Teams With Chicago Votes as Nonprofit Partner

Pitchfork Music Festival is pleased to announce our partnership with Chicago Votes, a dynamic non-partisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young Chicagoans and fostering a more inclusive democracy. Chicago Votes is leading the charge by engaging and developing a new generation of leaders, making government and politics accessible to youth from all corners of the city.

At Chicago Votes, three core initiatives drive their mission forward: Unlock Civics, Give a Sh*t Chicago, and Reimagining Democracy. Through these initiatives, Chicago Votes focuses on leadership development, civic education, voter turnout, and advocacy to create systemic change and make Chicago a better city for all.

Reimagining Democracy ensures that young people are civically educated and prepared to participate in elections through programs like Parade to the PollsTM, Election Judge Recruitment, and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) campaigns. Give a Sh*t Chicago fosters cultural organizing efforts, empowering creatives to become civic leaders through various platforms and initiatives like happy hours, podcasts, and ongoing leadership development opportunities. Unlock Civics operates at the intersection of democracy and the legal system, working to protect and restore voting rights for incarcerated individuals and providing civic education programs within correctional facilities.

Through our collaboration with Chicago Votes, Pitchfork Music Festival aims to amplify the voices of young people and promote civic engagement among festival attendees. Stay tuned for exciting opportunities to get involved and make a difference with Chicago Votes at Pitchfork Music Festival 2024.

Pitchfork, Chicago Votes, and Reform Alliance–an organization dedicated to transforming probation and parole by changing laws and systems to create pathways to work and wellbeing–will also team up with digital marketing platform Propeller to offer a special sweepstakes opportunity: a chance to win a flyaway trip and two VIP passes to Pitchfork Music Festival.
