Ms Lechte said she and her husband, both keen golfers, installed the golfing area to practise their chipping and putting skills on the outdoor green.
And the driving similator has mirrors on two sides for golfers to check their swing and stance.
“You can hit the ball as hard as you like in there, as it goes into a net,” Ms Lechte said.
“During the Covid lockdowns, it was wonderful to keep our golf skills up even when we couldn’t play.”
A love of sport and keeping fit has long been part of her life.
While working as a PE teacher when she organised a football clinic with Fitzroy, impressing the club so much they offered her a marketing job.
In the 1980s, then-Carlton president John Elliott convinced her to come and work for his team before she went on to establish her own marketing company, which had clients including the Australian Cricket Board and Melbourne Arts Centre.
Ms and Mr Lechte, who are downsizing, said they both enjoyed playing golf competitively when not busy with work and family.
With five children between them, the penthouse’s golfing area which sits alongside a built-in barbecue is popular with their eight grandchildren.
The 477sq m, three-bedroom pad features a private elevator, Miele-equipped kitchen with a butler’s pantry and laundry including a built-in television.
An ensuite and walk-in wardrobes are part of the main bedroom suite.
Kay & Burton Bayside director Matthew Pillios said the property also came with secure basement parking for five vehicles, a rarity in the Glen Eira municipality.
He has practised his own golf skills at the home.
“It’s the most amazing feeling when you’re out there in the open air,” he said.
