April 2024 is poised to be a big month in music history. Beyond Beyoncé’s new album, Cowboy Carter, ushering in the month and Taylor Swift’s new LP, The Tortured Poets Department, arriving on April 19th, a number of exciting tour are set to kick off, including jaunts by Neil Young and Crazy Horse, a reunited Heart, a reunited Black Crowes, The Decemberists, The Flaming Lips, and many more.
There will also be a number of joint tours kicking off in April (and no, that’s not a 4/20 joke). The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie are teaming up for an outing, as are Bad Religion and Social Distortion. A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and Primus will even team up for a three-act tour.

A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and Primus
Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday is on April 17th this year, and along with the occasion, his bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer will be on the road with Primus for a tour dubbed “Sessanta.” His actual birthday will see the bands play in Phoenix, followed by dates in San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago, and more cities. The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie
The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie toured together last year, bringing together Ben Gibbard’s projects for a show that included full performances of The Postal Service’s Give Up and DCFC’s Transatlanticism. In 2024, they’ll keep the tour rolling, with stops in Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Vancouver, and more. Plus, Slow Pulp will tag along to provide support on most dates. Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Neil Young and Crazy Horse announced their new album, FU##IN’ UP, in February. This month, the album will arrive — first as a Record Store Day 2024 exclusive on April 20th, and then with a wider release on April 26th. In support of the album, Young and the band will embark on the “Love Earth Tour,” starting on April 24th in San Diego and wrapping on May 23rd in Chicago, with stops in Dallas, Atlanta, Toronto, and more cities along the way. Heart and Cheap Trick
Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson reunited for their first performance in four years last December, and now, the duo is hitting the road for a massive international tour stopping in New Orleans, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Boston, and many more cities. Along the way, they’ll meet up with various friends to offer some wonderfully rock’n’roll lineups, with artists like Cheap Trick, Squeeze, Def Leppard, and Journey. Grab tickets here.
The Decemberists with Ratboys
The Decemberists returned with their first new song in six years in February. In March, they followed-up with the announcement of a new double album, As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again, and the 19-minute single “Joan in the Garden.” Now, in April, the band will hit the road for a multi-month North American tour stopping in cities like Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, and many more, with support from The Head and the Heart and Ratboys along the way. Slowdive
Last year, Slowdive shared everything is alive, their first new album in six years. In 2024, they’ll tour North America in support of the record, hitting the road in April for a two month jaunt taking them to cities like Denver, Kansas City, Austin, New Orleans, Atlanta, and more. Bad Religion and Social Distortion
Bad Religion and Social Distortion are teaming up for a joint tour kicking off in Bakersfield, California on April 9th. From there, the two legendary punk outfits will make stops in Las Vegas, Houston, New York, Philadelphia, and more before wrapping in Chicago in May. Khruangbin
After Khruangbin’s new album, A LA SALA, arrives on April 5th, the psych-rock trio will kick off their 2024 tour with a set at Coachella 2024. From there, they’ll hit the road for a sprawling jaunt, taking them to cities like Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, New York City, and others. The Flaming Lips
Last year marked 20 years since The Flaming Lips seminal concept album, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, first arrived, and the band has been duly celebrating the occasion. It started with a special edition reissue in April 2023, and now, the band will hit the road to perform Yoshimi in its entirety live in cities like New Orleans, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, and more. The Black Crowes
After 15 years away, The Black Crowes are back. Last month, reunited brothers Chris and Rich Robinson shared the band’s ninth studio album, Happiness Bastards, and now, they’ll be hitting the road for a 2024 tour, taking them to Houston, Phoenix, Montreal, New York, and more cities. Sum 41
The Canadian punks Sum 41 are set to kick off the US leg of their final tour ever beginning on April 19th in Omaha, with further dates scheduled in Kansas City, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Boston, Asbury Park, New York, Nashville, Philadelphia, and beyond.
