Rumored details about the secret Predator film may have been revealed. In addition to Predator: Badlands, a second animated project might be coming in 2025.
Per Gizmodo, new information about the upcoming Predator movies may have just been revealed. According to Gizmodo’s sources, the secret Predator film will be an animated feature. Additionally, these sources claim that the film will be an anthology following three different storylines. While still just a rumor, two of the three storylines have potential concepts: one following pirates and the other samurai.

A Predator sequel that underperformed at the box office and received mixed reviews from critics has found new success on Netflix.
20th Century Fox Studio executive Steve Absell confirmed the two projects as well as their director. Both Predator: Badlands and the animated film will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg, known for his work on the previous entry into the franchise, Prey. There are non known plans at this time ffor a direct sequel for Prey to happen, as it was revealed that Trachtenberg instead wanted to pursue other films. That led to the two movies that are set to be released next year.
No Direct Sequel for Prey Is Planned
“I’ll tell you very simply. After I became a success, Dan [Trachtenberg] came back and said he didn’t want to do Prey 2. And we’re like, ‘What do you want to do?'” 20th Century exec Steve Asbell told THR. “And he rattled off a bunch of ideas that were really crazy but really cool. We’ve actually done two of them. Two are coming out next year. One I can’t talk about yet, but the other one is the live-action Predator film with Elle Fanning that just wrapped in New Zealand. That’ll be out theatrically sometime next year.”
As of now, Predator: Badlands is set to be released on Nov. 7, 2025. The untitled animated Predator is also supposed to be released in 2025, but there is no release date yet.
So far, no information on whether or not the film will receive a theatrical run or go directly to Hulu has been released. Additionally, it is also unknown who will be doing the animation and how it will fit into the world.
