MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

The Fire Scripture for today introduced us to the exploit of men of faith that had lived before us, did exploit and worked righteousness. Many of us have heard how believers perform miracles in many crusades and at various places. This is a welcome development because the Bible says, “This sign shall follow those who believe. In my name, they will cast out devils and heal the sick” (Mark 16:17-18). The working of righteousness is also part of the legacy of faith that God wants us to demonstrate as children of God.

Babylon was converted for God by the three Hebrew boys and Daniel during their days. To save a nation from the power of darkness, we need men that will not just perform miracles but will work righteousness. A time like this in this nation demands the rise of more men of righteousness who will live and speak the truth, men of character who will not flinch in the face of opposition.

This reminds me of the story of Peter Cartwright, who was a circuit-riding Methodist preacher back in the nineteenth century. On one occasion, Cartwright was getting ready to preach to a very large congregation when he was told that President Andrew Jackson would be in the audience. His friends, who knew Mr. Cartwright well, asked him to make sure that his remarks were positive and inoffensive.

Peter Cartwright preached his sermon. Somewhere in that sermon, he said, “I have been told that Andrew Jackson is in this congregation. And I have been asked to guard my remarks. What I must say is that Andrew Jackson will go to hell if he doesn’t repent of his sin.” The congregation, of course, was aghast. Yet after service, President Jackson made his way to Peter Cartwright and extended his hand. “Sir, the president said, “If I had a regimen of men like you, I could transform the world.”

Beloved, we need men and women who love Jesus more than they love their personal peace. Men and women who love holiness and righteousness more than they love popularity. Men and women who love their country enough to get on their knees to ask God to bring a genuine revival. Men and women that will stand for the truth.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Father, I praise You for giving me the opportunity to stand for righteousness and truth in my country, in the name of Jesus.
2. I repent in any way I have joined a multitude to do wrong that has affected adversely the destiny of this nation, in the name of Jesus.
3. ⁠Father, give me fresh unction to pray and intercede for my nation always, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Father, give me a fresh baptism of fire that will make me t0 love righteousness and hate iniquity, in the name of Jesus.
5. Lord, give me the courage to stand for the truth anywhere I go, in the name of Jesus.
6. Father, make me an ambassador of peace anywhere I go, in the name of Jesus.
7. ⁠Father, make me an agent of revival in my nation and the world over, in the name of Jesus.
