Croatia, with its picturesque islands and charming coastal towns, offers an idyllic setting for a sailing adventure. Join us as we recount our unforgettable week sailing through some of Croatia’s most enchanting destinations.

Day 1 – sailing Croatia

Our journey begins at the picturesque Marina Frapa Resort Rogoznica, a perfect starting point for exploring the Dalmatian coast. With our sails hoisted and the sun on our faces, we eagerly set off towards our first destination: the renowned Blue Lagoon, nestled south of the island of Otok Drvenik Veli. Here, the water was so clear and inviting, it practically begged us to dive in and swim to our heart’s content.

Refreshed and invigorated, we continued our voyage to Maslinica. Located on the island of Šolta, Maslinica is a quaint fishing village known for its peaceful ambiance and stunning sunsets. As we docked our boat, we were greeted by the sight of charming stone houses and turquoise waters.

Day 2

The following day, we made our way to Mlini Beach, a secluded oasis perfect for a morning dip. Here, rocky and pebbled shores meet beneath the shade of majestic pine trees, creating a picturesque setting unlike any other. The crystal-clear waters of Plaza Mlini call out with their mesmerizing hues. It invites swimmers and snorkelers alike to explore the vibrant underwater world that thrives along the rocky formations.

After relaxing on this picturesque beach, we continued our journey towards Vis. Vis captivated us with its natural beauty and rich history, providing the ideal backdrop for an afternoon of exploration and relaxation. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we savored fresh seafood at a local taverna before retiring to our boat for the night.

Day 3

The third day of our journey led us to Tufera Cove. It is a hidden gem where the crystal-clear waters enticed us for another refreshing swim.

In the afternoon, we ventured to Korcula, where the allure of this historic island left us enchanted. Korcula it is believed to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. We explored the narrow alleys of Korčula Town, discovering hidden courtyards and medieval churches at every turn.

Day 4

After indulging in local delicacies, the next day we set sail for our next destination: Cave Pokrivenić. It is a natural wonder that left us in awe of Croatia’s breathtaking landscapes.

Afterward, we savored the laid-back atmosphere of Vrboska. Tucked away on the northern coast of Hvar, Vrboska welcomed us with its serene ambiance and picturesque waterfront. We spent a leisurely afternoon strolling along the canal-lined promenade, admiring the colorful fishing boats and charming stone bridges.

Day 5

The next day, after a relaxing evening exploring the village, as our sailing adventure drew to a close, we made one final stop at Bol, home to the iconic Zlatni Rat beach. Here, we soaked up the sun and reveled in the beauty of our surroundings before continuing on to Hvar for one last afternoon of exploration. Hvar is renowned for its lively atmosphere and stunning architecture.

We wandered through the winding streets of Hvar Town, marveling at its Venetian-era buildings and bustling squares. A highlight of our visit was climbing up to the historic fortress for panoramic views of the island and its surrounding islets.

As the sun began to set on our last evening at sea, we reflected on the incredible experiences and memories we had made throughout the week.

Day 6 – sailing Croatia last day

With memories to last a lifetime, we reluctantly set course for Rogoznica Marina, where our journey had begun.

As we docked our boat and bid farewell to the sea, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the unforgettable experiences and the beauty of Croatia that had captured our hearts along the way.

Our journey wouldn’t have been the same without the expertise and hospitality of the crew from Sunset and Sails, especially our skilled skipper who navigated us through the wonders of the Adriatic with ease.

If you want to try a specific Croatian dessert I highly recommend trying this amazing Kremsnita, a vanilla custard cake made with crispy puff pastry sheets.

We hope that our story has inspired you to embark on your own Croatian sailing odyssey, where azure waters, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality await. So, pack your bags, set sail, and discover the magic of Croatia’s coast for yourself. We promise, it’s an adventure you won’t soon forget.
