BJ Brinker’s Home Cooking: S’more Krispy Treats


Even though I don’t use rice crispy cereal in this recipe, I call the rice Krispy treats.   These are  one of my granddaughters favorite.

S’MORE KRISPY TREATS 

(serves 16)

Ingredients:

*1 (12 ounce) box  golden graham cereal, about  7 cups  (can use rice Krispy)

*1 (10 once) bag of mini marshmallows

*1/4 cup butter

*1 (8.45 ounce) package snack size hershey’s bar, broken into bite size pieces

*Pinch of sea salt

Directions:

~Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

~Spray a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray.

~In a large pot, melt 1/4 cup butter and 1 (10 ounce) bag of marshmallows.

~Once melted, remove from heat and stir in 1 (12 ounce) box of golden graham cereal, making sure it’s completely coated. 

~Spread of mixture into prepared pan (I get my hands a little wet and pat it down, to prevent sticking).

~Place 1 (8.45 ounce) package of broken up snack size Hershey’s bar evenly over mixture.

~Spread the remaining half of rice krispy mixture over chocolate.

~Place in preheated oven for 10 minutes.

~Remove and allow mixture to set before cutting (1-2 hours)
