Clover Press to publish first-ever Allred artbook THE MARVEL ART OF MICHAEL ALLRED

Clover Press has announced that it will publish The Marvel Art of Michael Allred, the latest boutique artbook in the “The Marvel Art of…” line. The artbook will feature Michael Allred‘s 30 year-long legacy from X-STATIX to Spider-Man to The Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer and includes rare never-before-seen art, behind the scenes material, an introduction by Dan Slott and afterword by Matt Fraction, and Allred’s commentary.

“Everything I’ve done with Marvel has solidified blissful memories and epic collaborations and friendships with folks like Peter Milligan, Matt Fraction, and Dan Slott. And always with my beloved colorist Laura Allred spreading the icing on the cake,” Allred said. “Playing with Marvel Comics’ iconic characters like the Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, as well as my own creations like Zeitgeist, Mister Sensitive and Doop, is layer after layer of creative dreams coming true.”

Laura Allred, colorist and Allred’s partner, revealed that she often had to pinch herself upon realizing that she could work with her partner so closely in bringing his artwork and storytelling to life. She continued, saying that being in the Marvel Comics Universe was like “hanging out with dear lifelong friends.”

“It’s so rewarding to tap into their incredible history and, building on that past, give them our own spin,” she said. “And now, what a thrill to see so many of my favorite images collected in this big beautiful package!”

A Kickstarter campaign also launched for the hardcover artbook which comes in at 200 pages and will be approximately 9″ x 12”. The campaign includes a reversible dust jacket cover and slip case. Certain tiers will include perks such as three portfolio sets with 12 high quality prints and Kickstarter exclusives which includes stickers, 1000 piece puzzle, trading cards, and head sketches.
