IAG Cargo expands Constant Climate network in Europe

IAG Cargo’s facility at Strasbourg Airport in France has been approved to transport time and temperature-sensitive healthcare products, expanding the company’s “Constant Climate” global network.

Strasbourg is IAG Cargo’s 29th Constant Climate station in Europe. This latest certification means IAG Cargo now has over 100 approved stations across six continents to serve the pharmaceutical, bioscience and healthcare industry.

Last year, Constant Climate stations were added at Cape Town International Airport and  Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) 

Jordan Kohlbeck, head of pharmaceutical at IAG Cargo, said: “We are thrilled to announce the opening of another Constant Climate station, this time in Strasbourg, France. As France’s pharmaceutical sector continues to expand, this station comes at an ideal time to support our customers in delivering life-saving medicines and vaccines efficiently.

“I’m really looking forward to working with our partners and customers in the region to ensure seamless temperature-controlled air cargo services for their critical shipments.”

The new Constant Climate station will facilitate the transportation of pharmaceuticals, such as vaccines, medicinal drugs and clinical trial medication, requiring precise time and temperature control from Strasbourg to IAG Cargo’s hubs at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport and London Heathrow Airport for further distribution.

This service particularly targets pharmaceutical customers in France, whose pharmaceuticals frequently transit through London Heathrow or Madrid to reach their final destinations., said IAG Cargo.

With an 18% increase in tonnage in 2023 compared to 2022, the Constant Climate product is a key focus area for IAG Cargo.
