Rec Room revealed that its social game would be available to Nintendo Switch players shortly on November 6.
Earlier this week at GamesBeat Next, Rec Room announced during a voice chat moderation panel that the highly-lauded cross-platform game would be coming to Switch “soon.” At the panel, head of Trust & Safety Yasmin Hussain would not give up the release date of the port, but did insist that multiplayer would be cross-platform with all the other available versions of Rec Room currently out.
Today, the company made good on that promise.
At the panel, Hussain and Modulate’s Mark Frumkin discussed ToxMod, voice chatting moderation software used by Rec Room to pick up on poor behavior. One aspect of Rec Room’s cross-platform stance is that different audiences have different needs and using ToxMod allowed them to cultivate a global community on their best behavior.
Rec Room is currently available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR, Meta Quest, iOS and Android and is cross-platform between all versions.
