Acclaimed artist Jim Lee has released the final covers for DC and Marvel‘s crossovers. The upcoming DC vs. Marvel Omnibus and the DC/Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus will arrive on August 6.
The President and Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics took to Instagram to unveil the epic covers featuring some of the most iconic characters from the two comic book publishing powerhouses. “Because you asked so nicely—here’s the Amalgam (@dcofficial and @marvel) universe omnibus collection cover now inked (by @scottwilliamsinks) and colored (by @sinccolor),” Lee’s DC/Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus post reads. “I thank my collaborators all the time for their dedication to the most insane assignments. Unfortunately, we don’t get paid per character or per line. We just can’t help ourselves.”

Regarding DC vs. Marvel Omnibus, Lee writes, “It can now be revealed: Marvel vs DC Omnibus cover—collecting the Big Two crossovers from yesteryear. Are you not entertained?” Lee’s return for the DC Versus Marvel Omnibus and the DC/Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus marked the end of the artist’s 25-year Marvel Comics hiatus. Lee’s finished art for both titles is inked by Scott Williams and colored by Alex Sinclair.
The DC vs Marvel Omnibus collects previous crossovers from the ’80s and ’90s, including Batman/Captain America #1, Batman/Daredevil #1, Batman/Punisher: Lake of Fire #1, Batman/Spider-Man #1, Daredevil/Batman #1, DC Special Series #27, Darkseid vs. Galactus: The Hunger #1. McFarlane Toys Figure Inspired by Jim Lee art
McFarlane Toys has a new Superman figure inspired by the artwork of Lee currently available for pre-order. The Man of Steel figure dons the Big Blue Boy Scout’s traditional costume, complete with the hero’s classic red trunks. The toy comes with a McFarlane Toys digital collectible. Lee provided the art for 2004’s “Superman: For Tomorrow” storyline, published in Superman #204-215.
