Over 200lbs of cocaine seized during traffic stop in Hidalgo County

Texas – Police seized nearly 100 kilos (216 pounds) of cocaine and four rifles during a routine traffic stop in Hidalgo County.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (TPS) announced Friday that the bust near McAllen, Texas, yielded nearly $2 million in drugs.

Just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Texas DPS Troopers stopped a tractor-trailer for a traffic violation. The narcotics were found in cellophane-wrapped bundles inside pallets of dried goods.

Further investigation revealed three AR-style rifles and one AK-style rifle.
