After a day spent in a Manhattan courtroom for his criminal hush money case, former President Donald Trump visited a New York City Fire Department station to deliver pizza.
Trump is required to be in court Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for the next five or so weeks, but he has been campaigning around the country on Wednesdays and over the weekends to make up for lost time. On the days he’s been required in court, he’s found some campaigning opportunities in the city. Thursday, he was seen delivering pizza to a midtown Manhattan FDNY station.
“I LOVE YOU ALL-special people,” Trump signed in one firefighter’s log book.
“We appreciate whoever supports our members at the FDNY, no matter their political affiliation,” the fire department said in a statement.
At the fire station, Trump reiterated his “love” for New York City.
“We’re going to come in. Number one, you have to stop crime, and we’re going to let the police do their job. They have to be given back their authority. They have to be able to do their job,” Trump said. “And we’re going to come into New York. We’re making a big play for New York, other cities too. But this city, I love this city.”
He visited the same fire station in 2021 for the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
Trump has been using his extended stay in New York City as an opportunity to campaign there. In 2020, President Joe Biden beat Trump, garnering 60% of the vote in New York City.
Last month, Trump visited a bodega after spending the day in court.
“We’re doing better now than we’ve ever done, so I think it’s having a reverse effect,” Trump said at the bodega.
It’s not the first time Trump has incorporated food into his campaign strategy. Earlier this year, Trump stopped at a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta. There, he handed out milkshakes and chicken sandwiches to customers.
“So can I have 30 milkshakes and also some chicken?” Trump asked the cashier. “I’m going to take care of the customers.”
Former GOP Rep. Lee Zeldin said New York, a solidly blue state, could be in play for Trump if he increases his popularity in New York City.

“So when I ran in 2022, what I was saying was if I get less than 30% in New York City, I can’t win; if I get more than 35% in New York City, it becomes difficult to lose,” Zeldin said on Fox News.
“President Trump can get inside of all these different communities over the course of the next several weeks and get his support up,” Zeldin continued.
