Exasperated, Russell looked down at the floor and wanted to cry. Just cry and let out the years of pent-up frustration and never-ending pain in his heart because it was too much to bear. “I’m so f**king tired of not being able to say how I feel. Pretending I’m happy when I’m really miserable.” He slowly met Ryan’s eyes, clutched his chest and scrunched up his face from the internal pain that had a hold on him. “Did you ever want something so bad that your heart aches? Real physical pain for something that you know you can’t have? Something you’ll probably never have? And it just devours you.” He took a long drink of his Jack Daniels and leaned back on the couch, trying to read the invisible writing on the ceiling. “I married the wrong person.”
