Over the last 30 days Intuit has cranked out several updates to your QuickBooks Desktop software. Download, install and updates will have depended on how you have your software updates set.
This is a synopsis of the recent updates to the currently supported QuickBooks Desktop versions for both QBD-Windows and QBD-Mac. These updates impact all SKUs of QuickBooks Desktop for the version years specified.
QuickBooks Desktop (for Windows)
QuickBooks Desktop 2024
Release 4 (R4_37) – Impacting QuickBooks Desktop 2024 Pro-plus and Premier Plus 2024 and QuickBooks Enterprise 24.0. The following functionality was updated.
Unified User Management (UUM)
- One user management for multiple realm user management scenario. Add & manage all connected users & roles at one single place
- One user one role for QBDT core & Payroll users
- Manage MSC roles in UUM and roles will be independent and in addition to the QBDT roles
- No access to Non-admins in UUM
- Unified email template & content for user management – invitation, access, request, etc.
QuickBooks Desktop 2023
Release 9 (R9_137) – Impacting QuickBooks Desktop 2023 Pro-plus and Premier-plus 2023 and QuickBooks Enterprise 23.0. The following two features/functions were updated.
DTM (Desktop Migration) Bulk Migration
- Enable multiple-file migration from desktop by generating export files
- New ACE variable in systems where bulk migration is enabled
- Changes to enable cyclic experience for generating export files for bulk migration
Client Data Review
- Be Aware that ‘Close’ on the Client Data Review Main Page isn’t available. User needs to click the “X” button at the top right corner of the Window to close Client Data Review.
- To Customize the Tools(Add/Remove) in the “Tools” section of Accountant Center, Click on the “Refresh” link in “Reconciliation” Section to get updated in the Tool’s list.
- To Customize the Tasks(Add/Remove) in the “Cleanup Tasks” Section of Client Data Review in Accountant Center, Reopen the Client Data Review page to get updated in the Task’s List
QuickBooks Desktop 2021
Release 17 (R17_21) – Impacting QuickBooks Desktop 2021 Pro, Pro-plus, Premier, Premier-plus and QuickBooks Enterprise 21.0. The following sunset provisions were incorporated into the software.
Service Discontinuation
Added prompts to message that service discontinuation will occur after May 31st, 2024 for the following:
- Accountant Copy File Transfer (ACFT)
- Multi currency – Download exchange rates
- Contributed Reports – Sharing, rating of custom reports
- Online banking services
- Payments and e-Invoicing
- QuickBooks Email
- Payroll
- T-sheets
- IPD (In Product Discovery – including Help-search & messaging functionality)
QuickBooks Desktop for Mac
Impacting both QuickBooks Desktop for Mac and QuickBooks Desktop for Mac-Plus, as appropriate by year-version.
QBD Mac 2023
Release 6 (R6_2) – The following features/functions were enhanced.
- Export – Improved export to QuickBooks Online
- Online Banking – Added support for American Express IDX connections.
- Calendar – Updated macOS Calendar and Reminders for macOS version 12 (Monterey) and macOS version 13 (Ventura).
- Pay Bills – Repaired a crash that could occur trying to click on radio buttons in Pay Bills window.
- Melio – Fixed a crash that could occur trying to process online bill payments using Melio.
- Download Transactions – Fixed a problem when attempting to modify Payee in Download Transactions wouldn’t work.
- Account Register – Resolved issue where typing in search field of register wasn’t accepting keyboard input.
- Discounts – Resolved problem where discount changes applied in Receive Payments would not get saved.
QBD Mac 2022
Release 11 (R11_2) – The following features/functions were enhanced.
- Export – Improved export to QuickBooks Online
- Online Banking – Added support for American Express IDX connections.
