Four episodes into the newest Dragon Ball anime, Glorio remains one of its biggest mysteries. His dry and brooding attitude, and the way it contrasts with Goku’s loud and energetic personality, make him an outstanding addition to Dragon Ball DAIMA. However, there’s still no explanation for who exactly he is, or how he’s as strong as he is.
Glorio is more powerful than any fan of Dragon Ball DAIMA could have imagined. In both Episode 3 and Episode 4 of the anime, he has proven to be even stronger than the Supreme Kai. Because of when DAIMA is set, this makes Glorio strong enough to defeat the franchise’s most iconic villain, Frieza, with a single hit.
The Supreme Kai Was Once More Powerful Than Frieza
Shin Was One of the Strongest Fighters in Universe 7 Prior to the Cell Saga
Shin, the Supreme Kai of Universe 7, made an impactful first impression when he debuted in Dragon Ball Z’s Buu Saga. Accompanied by his attendant, Kibito, Shin appears without warning at the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament. He bears a sinister aura and an intimidating presence that catches the attention of the Z-Warriors. In the first round of the tournament, Shin is set to fight Piccolo, but this battle does not occur. Just by sensing the Supreme Kai’s power up close, Piccolo is filled with fear, knowing he stands absolutely no chance against him. This is a Piccolo who’s already fused with Kami, become equal in strength to Androids 17 and 18, and surpassed Frieza in power by leaps and bounds.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 4 is the Anime’s Best Episode Yet
The kindness of strangers and a new Demon ally aid Goku, Glorio, and Shin in an action-packed, world-building episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA.
While he’s dwarfed in strength by Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta, Shin is the fourth-strongest unfused hero in the Buu Saga. Long before any of the leading Saiyans were born, Shin even saved the entire universe by killing Babidi’s father, and the creator of Majin Buu, Bibidi. Just because he’s terrified by Majin Buu and Dabura doesn’t mean that he can’t destroy Frieza in a fight. Even in his Final Form, at 100% of his power, Frieza wouldn’t even be able to lay a hand on the Supreme Kai. Shin becomes even more powerful toward the end of the arc, as he accidentally fuses with Kibito into Kibito Kai, but this is undone by the time of Dragon Ball DAIMA.
Glorio is Currently the Strongest Z-Warrior
Glorio is Awesome in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 4
The last several episodes of Dragon Ball DAIMA have highlighted the power of the newest Z-Warrior, Glorio. In Episode 2, he introduces himself to Goku as a servant of the Third King of Demon World. While Glorio doesn’t elaborate, he’s trusted enough by this important figure to be charged with the mission of recruiting the man who defeated Majin Buu, Goku. In Episode 3, fans get to see Glorio whip out his laser gun, with it proving to be a highly dangerous weapon, and he’s seen fighting for the first time. When he’s attacked by other demons from the Third Demon World in a bar, Glorio defeats them without effort, displaying great skills as he knocks them away. Watching this unfold, Shin is gobsmacked that Glorio is so much stronger than other demons from the Third Demon World.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 4 Power Ranking
Goku, Glorio, and Panzy show their strength as more of Demon Realm is explored in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 4.
DAIMA’s most recent episode, “Chatty,” pushes Glorio to display a sample of his real power. While flying over the Sea of Darkness, the Dragon Team is attacked by a demon fish that leaps out of it. Rather than leave the action to Goku, Glorio elects to find the monster himself. Despite the demon fish having a mighty tail swipe and the ability to breathe fire, it’s no match for Glorio. Glorio flies around the sky at great speed to dodge the fish’s attacks, and kills it with two decisive blows. In the aftermath of the fight, Goku marvels at Glorio’s strength, saying that he’s even stronger than Shin, something the Supreme Kai takes offense to.
Shin is yet to show exactly how strong he is in his current, de-aged form. While it’s likely that, due to the mystical nature of his powers, he hasn’t been weakened by Gomah’s wish, Goku only has his knowledge of the Supreme Kai’s typical power level to base his assessment off of either way. Under normal circumstances, Goku, Vegeta, and especially Gohan are far stronger than Shin but, based on Goku’s fights in Dragon Ball DAIMA so far, it’s doubtful this is currently the case. If Shin is weaker than Glorio, then so are all the weakened Z-Warriors. The only potential exception to this is Majin Buu, who’s also a magical being, and who could kill Shin in an instant. Even if Majin Buu is still at full power, he seems to be a non-factor in DAIMA’s story, and he barely counts as a Z-Warrior to begin with.
Glorio Could Defeat Frieza with One Punch
Frieza’s Place in Dragon Ball’s Hierarchy of Power Has Fluctated Over Time
At the start of Dragon Ball Z, Frieza represents the peak of power in the series. As the Emperor of the Universe, the only fighter comparable to him is his father, King Cold, and the only beings he fears are the slumbering Beerus and the sealed away Majin Buu. He can destroy planets with a wave of his finger, and even his strongest subordinate, Captain Ginyu, isn’t even a tenth as powerful as him. Over the course of the Saiyan and Frieza Sagas, however, Goku rises to Frieza’s level and, after transforming into a Super Saiyan for the first time, he surpasses the tyrant. Frieza tastes defeat for the first time in his life and, after returning as Mecha Frieza at the start of the Cell Saga, he loses in an even more humiliating fashion against Super Saiyan Future Trunks. From that point onward, every new villain, and every Saiyan in the series, as well as Piccolo, surpasses Frieza as well.

Dragon Ball DAIMA’s Opening Could Be Hinting at a Major Role for This DBZ Villain
King Dabura is one of Dragon Ball Z’s most overlooked villains, but Dragon Ball DAIMA suggests fans have not seen the last of him.
In Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, Frieza returns and becomes stronger than ever. After being resurrected and training for four months, Frieza unlocks his Golden Frieza transformation, and he goes from being weaker than Super Saiyan Goku to being equal to Super Saiyan Blue Goku. After being killed again, he continues to grow in power by training mentally in Hell. Several arcs later, Frieza discovers a Hyperbolic Time Chamber, unlocks his Black Frieza form, and becomes leagues more powerful than Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta.
Dragon Ball DAIMA is set mere days after the events of the Buu Saga. This means that, while the events of the anime are taking place, Frieza is still in Hell, as weak as he was in the Cell Saga. At this point in the timeline, it’s hardly even a question that Glorio could kill Frieza with a single punch.
Glorio is Stronger Than Nearly Everyone in Universe 7
Goku is a fighting genius, and there are few characters in Dragon Ball superior to him when it comes to sensing power. When he says Glorio is stronger than Shin, it carries a lot of weight. Glorio may not be able to sense ki, but his is evidently superior to most of Dragon Ball Z’s cast. Glorio hasn’t even shown his full power, his clash with the demon fish over as soon as it starts. And yet, Goku has already determined that he’s stronger than the Supreme Kai. By extension, this means Glorio is a more powerful fighter than Kibito, Piccolo, Imperfect Cell, Androids 16, 17, and 18, Goten, Trunks, and especially Frieza.
Glorio’s strength raises a number of questions. If he really is just another demon from the Third Demon Realm, one who doesn’t even know what ki is, then it’s a mystery how he’s so much more powerful than Super Saiyans, Androids, and gods. Glorio being such a capable fighter also makes his choice to carry a gun seem far more odd. And, perhaps most importantly to the future of Dragon Ball DAIMA, if Glorio is currently stronger than Goku, then why does he need the weakened Saiyan’s help to defeat Gomah?
With Goku and Glorio working together, Gomah should be very afraid. Glorio could kill the former Emperor of Universe 7 with a single blow, and he may be able to deliver the same fate to Demon Realm’s Supreme Ruler with only slightly more efforts. Glorio is a force to be reckoned with, and fans have only just begun to understand his potential, and who he really is.
