World Star recently grew its 737 Classic freighter customer base when it placed a 1998-vintage 737-400F (29207, ex-ASL Airlines) with Brazilian logistics company Braspress Transportes Urgentes.
World Star also has 737-800SFs placed with airlines, and is among a small group of lessors that have committed to adding both A321 and 737-800 narrowbody freighters to their portfolios. Its first A321-200 is set to be converted by EFW.
“2023 brought for World Star significant growth in the freighter portfolio and a reinforced willingness to continue to expand our portfolio and our customer base,” Leal told Cargo Facts.
In addition to his role at World Star, Leal is a professor at the Higher Institute of Education and Sciences in Lisbon, Portugal. He held leadership roles with TAP Air Portugal, including head of fleet planning and contracts and fleet manager, before joining World Star.
Cargo Facts Asia will assemble industry leaders and executives to share their insight on the air cargo sector in the Asia-Pacific region while providing attendees a forum to engage with key decision-makers.
