Netgear has announced a new mission for its business division, focusing on serving small to medium sized enterprises.
The aim is to provide networking solutions that are simple, reliable and cost-effective without compromising on expertise and innovation.
“In this next era of Netgear we’re stripping away complexity, removing friction, and reimagining what business networking can be,” said CEO CJ Prober.
The new focus on small to medium-sized businesses is being led by Netgear for Business division president and general manager Pramod Badjate, who joined nine months ago with experience at Cisco, Ruckus and Arista.
Netgear has been enjoying rapid growth in the SMB segment, with 15% revenue growth last quarter, and double digit growth forecast for 2025.
Badjate is planning significant investment in R&D, and the first milestone in this strategy is the acquisition of VAAG Systems, an embedded and cloud software vendor based in Chennai, India.
This investment will speed up Netgear’s development of in-house software development capabilities and will be the foundation of a new Netgear software development centre, based in Chennai.
The team that has been acquired has experience working for clients such as Qualcomm, HP, Cisco and MaxLinear and will focus on leveraging AI to simplify networking for small to medium enterprises.
Netgear for Business product development has been given a clear mandate: to help businesses escape clunky, fragmented networks that lack support or bloated, overpriced systems packed with features they don’t need.
“Current networking solutions don’t meet the needs of small and medium enterprises. They’re stuck with either complex, overpriced systems meant for larger companies or fragmented solutions that don’t integrate well and lack proper support,” said Badjate.
“We’re changing that, offering an integrated solution that is much easier to deploy and manage for MSPs and small IT departments alike.
“We acknowledge the criticality of networking for these businesses and do not compromise on reliability and support.”
Neatgear for Business also plans to expand its AV over IP offerings, which include a portfolio of preconfigured solutions, design services, and education.
The company already has more than 400 industry partners, and Netgear says its plug-and-play AV solutions provide them with huge savings in labour costs by taking the complexity out of AV over IP networks.
