The first Monday in May is fast approaching, and with it, the 2025 Met Gala — fashion’s most anticipated night of the year.
As the Metropolitan Museum of Art prepares to open its doors for another night of spectacle, self-expression, and sheer ingenuity, the guest list is beginning to take shape. Some names are already confirmed, from co-chairs like A$AP Rocky and Colman Domingo to artists, athletes, and cultural icons making their debut on the steps. Others remain tantalisingly unconfirmed, keeping us guessing — and dreaming — about what this year’s arrivals might look like.
Whether it’s returning favourites like Janelle Monáe or rumoured first-timers like Chappell Roan, the 2025 Met Gala promises a tapestry of creativity across generations, genres, and styles. Below, we’ve gathered every confirmed guest (and a few we’re manifesting) for this year’s celebration, along with a few early predictions on who—and what—they might be wearing.
A$AP Rocky
Guest status: Confirmed
A confirmed co-chair at the 2025 event, Mr. Rihanna himself will be in attendance on the first Monday in May. And while he’s likely to be wearing Bottega Veneta – as a newly confirmed ambassador of the House – we’re less interested in whether he’ll be sporting an Andiamo, and more interested in the other arm candy he could be bringing: his wife.
Aimee Lou Wood
Guest status: Unconfirmed
The breakout star from this season’s The White Lotus, Woods is someone we’re hoping will be heading along to NYC next month, but at this point her attendance is still unconfirmed. Thoroughly British herself – and having starred in their recent Summer 2025 campaign – we’re hoping Woods could don something from the House of Burberry.
André 3000
Guest status: Confirmed
Music man André 3000 is confirmed as part of this year’s Met Gala host committee, and so will be in attendance. While he’s not currently tied to any major fashion houses, if his past red carpet looks are anything to go by, we’re expecting him to pull out a LEWK.
Angel Reese
Guest status: Confirmed
Reese, who attended last year’s Gala in a 16Arlington by Marco Capaldo dress will be on this year’s host committee. Who knows, will she don Capaldo’s designs once more? Or are we going to see her step out in something new.
Audra McDonald
Guest status: Confirmed
Broadway star McDonald was last at the Gala in 2021, wearing custom Sergio Hudson. This year, she’s back on the guest list – this time as a member of the hosting committee.
Ayo Edebiri
Guest status: Confirmed
Edebiri has been a Met Gala shoe-in in our minds ever since her 2024 debut in LOEWE. But now she’s returning as a member of the hosting committee – will she return in LOEWE too? With Jonathan Anderson’s move to Dior, we’re excited to see where she lands.
Branden Jacobs-Jenkins
Guest status: Confirmed
The American playwright is confirmed for this year’s Met Gala as a member of the official hosting committee. This will mark Jacobs-Jenkins’ gala debut – one we’re very much looking forward to.
Chappell Roan
Guest status: Unconfirmed
While as-yet unconfirmed for the Met’s guest list, we’re banking on the arrival of Miss Chappell Roan on the carpet this year. Having been propelled to fame over the last 12 months, and becoming known for incredible fashion choices both on and off the stage, we’re excited to see what the singer will bring to the Met – we’re thinking a crazy, archival pull.
Charli XCX
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Another unconfirmed guest, but one our hearts are set on seeing make their debut. Was there a movement more influential on the fashion and culture of the last year than brat? We think not. The singer has been pulling out plenty of great off-the-runway looks of late too – from Ludovic for Jean Paul Gaultier to Dilara Findikoglu.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Guest status: Confirmed
Adichie is another confirmed attendee and member of the 2025 hosting committee – her first Met, to our knowledge. While she’s not affiliated with any major Houses at the moment, she’s got a penchant for style that’s vibrant and bold.
Colman Domingo
Guest status: Confirmed
Domingo, a co-chair for the 2025 Met Gala, is confirmed as an attendee. As for who he’ll be wearing, we’re taking note that he recently wore custom Balmain on the cover of U.S. Vogue, and has a history of championing designers like Willy Chavarria and Louis Vuitton.
Dapper Dan
Guest status: Confirmed
The Harlem icon and trailblazer of streetwear couture is a confirmed attendee for this year’s Met Gala. And we’re expecting nothing less than a masterclass in tailoring, rich textures, and cultural storytelling through fashion – perhaps infused with his signature Gucci collaboration?
Doechii
Guest status: Confirmed
After her explosive performances and daring style evolution over the past year, Doechii is locked in for this year’s Met Gala as a part of the hosting committee. She’s already a big fan of Thom Browne, so we’d be surprised if she doesn’t don the designer for the occasion.
Dua Lipa
Guest status: Unconfirmed
She was a co-chair in 2023, but for 2025, her attendance is still under wraps. If she does step out, our bet is on vintage archival. She’s a close friend of both CHANEL and Versace, the latter of which was just bought out so may be looking to have a real red carpet moment.
Edward Enninful
Guest status: Confirmed
The outgoing editor-in-chief of British Vogue is confirmed for this year’s event as part of the hosting committee, and it will no doubt be a bittersweet farewell tour of sorts. We’re anticipating a look that’s equal parts classic and cutting-edge, much like Enninful’s own editorial legacy.
Grace Wales Bonner
Guest status: Confirmed
The revered designer will be attending this year’s Gala as part of the hosting committee. With a career built on nuanced narratives of identity and elegance, we’re hopeful she’ll don some of her own designs – and maybe even dress a few others on the carpet.
Harris Dickinson
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Following his buzzed-about performance in Babygirl and announcement as a future Beatle biopic lead, Dickinson would be a welcome addition to the Met steps – but is unconfirmed as of yet.
Jacob Elordi
Guest status: Unconfirmed
He’s been missing from the carpet since 2022, but with a natural affinity for fashion (and an ambassadorship with Bottega), Elordi’s absence would be keenly felt. We’d love to see him try something a little out of the box this time.
Janelle Monáe
Guest status: Confirmed
No stranger to a Met Gala showstopper, Monáe is back as part of the hosting committee this year. Known for architectural silhouettes and her signature monochrome looks, we’d love to see the singer and actor rep Ralph Lauren – a House for whom she is an ambassador.
JENNIE
Guest status: Unconfirmed
K-pop royalty JENNIE is still TBC, but after her 2023 debut in vintage CHANEL, and 2024 follow-up in Alaia, we think she’s a shoe in for the guest list. She’s still a CHANEL girly at the moment, so we wouldn’t put it past her to rep the House.
Jeremy O. Harris
Guest status: Confirmed
Playwright and provocateur Jeremy O. Harris is confirmed for the 2025 Gala as part of the hosting committee. Known for challenging traditional aesthetics and favouring bold, cerebral fashion choices, we’re expecting nothing less than a fully conceptual look.
Jeremy Pope
Guest status: Confirmed
The multi-talented Jeremy Pope will be on the steps of the Met this year as a host in the hosting committee. With a history of working closely with labels like Balmain and Louis Vuitton, there are a few options for who he’ll be wearing.
JISOO
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Following a stellar solo year, all eyes are on whether JISOO will grace the Met steps. As a Dior ambassador, if she does attend, we’d expect her to don something ethereal from the mind of Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Jonathan Owens
Guest status: Confirmed
NFL star Jonathan Owens (aka Mr Simone Biles) will be attending this year’s Met Gala as part of the hosting committee – alongside his wife. We’re still guessing as to who he might wear.
Jordan Casteel
Guest status: Confirmed
Celebrated painter Jordan Casteel joins the 2025 guest list. Known for her vibrant portraits of Black life in America, we’re excited to see what she brings to the carpet.
Kara Walker
Guest status: Confirmed
Another visionary artist, Kara Walker, whose work interrogates race, gender, and history with unflinching honesty, will make her Met Gala debut this year on the hosting committee. Whatever she wears, it’s likely to carry deeper meaning beneath the surface.
Kendrick Lamar
Guest status: Unconfirmed
While his presence is not yet confirmed, we’d like to think Lamar’s invite won’t be lost in the mail. As a newly minted CHANEL ambassador, and having worn a custom bomber from the House for his last Gala appearance, we’re guessing he’ll don the French maison once more.
Lady Gaga
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Mother Monster’s appearance remains one of the Gala’s biggest question marks. If she confirms, the question isn’t whether she’ll go big — it’s how big. Knowing Gaga, we can expect full theatre, perhaps tied to the night’s theme in the most unexpected way.
LeBron James
Guest status: Confirmed
Basketball’s king is confirmed and ready to serve another major fashion moment. As someone who has long balanced sportswear roots with high fashion, we’re expecting something powerful.
Lewis Hamilton
Guest status: Confirmed
Formula 1 star and fashion plate Hamilton is back for 2025 – this time as a co-chair. As a Dior ambassador, we’re expecting him to don something from the House. Perhaps it will be the first we see of Jonathan Anderson’s take?
Lisa
Guest status: Unconfirmed
The White Lotus guest and Blackpink singer Lisa hasn’t confirmed her attendance yet. But given her meteoric year so far, and partnerships with brands like Celine and Bulgari, she would be a major addition.
Megan Thee Stallion
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Hot Girl Meg has been relatively lowkey on the Gala circuit recently, but fresh from a massive two weekends at Coachella, we’d love to see her appear.
Nicola Coughlan
Guest status: Unconfirmed
The Bridgerton darling and newly crowned fashion favourite hasn’t confirmed yet. Last year the Irish actor wore a distinctly British designer – Richard Quinn – so we’d love to see her lean into her UK heritage once more. Maybe a Simone Rocha moment for something a little closer to home?
Olivia Rodrigo
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Gen Z’s pop darling has yet to confirm for 2025, but she’s a perennial best-dressed contender. Rodrigo has loved an archival moment on carpets as of late, so we’re thinking she might reach for a vintage pull.
Olivier Rousteing
Guest status: Confirmed
The Balmain creative director will be front and centre this year as one of this year’s hosts in the hosting committee. With his taste for drama, glamour, and intricate craftsmanship, it’s safe to say his look — and those he dresses — will be standout moments. Especially if Tyla’s sand dress from last year is a marker.
Pharrell Williams
Guest status: Confirmed
Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Creative Director and eternal cool kid Pharrell is locked in as a co-chair this year. Of course, we expect him to don full, custom LV.
Rashid Johnson
Guest status: Confirmed
Acclaimed visual artist Rashid Johnson will join the 2025 Met Gala as one of the hosting committee.
Regina King
Guest status: Confirmed
The Oscar-winner and perennial style icon will be at this year’s Gala. Known for her statuesque silhouettes and precise fashion choices, we’re predicting something regal. She was at in attendance at the Schiaparelli Fall 2025 show…
Rosé
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Another Blackpink member we’re waiting on. As a Saint Laurent muse, if Rosé does attend, she’ll almost certainly deliver a cool, minimalist yet impactful look from the House. Here’s hoping.
Sabrina Carpenter
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Pop’s newly crowned sweetheart has taken over our playlists and our Pinterest boards this year. Should she make a Met appearance once more, we’re imagining something high-shine, playful, and maybe even a little 2000s-coded.
Sha’Carri Richardson
Guest status: Confirmed
Track star and trailblazer Richardson is set for the Gala as part of the hosting committee this year. And given her bold beauty looks and athletic flair, we’re excited to see how she marries sport and high fashion on the red carpet.
Simone Biles
Guest status: Confirmed
Olympian Simone Biles returns to the Met as part of the hosting committee – alongside her husband. We’re expecting something just as gold-medal worthy from the athelte as her gym routines.
Spike Lee
Guest status: Confirmed
Filmmaker, provocateur, and perennial best-dressed Spike Lee is back. Will he lean into classic tailoring or opt for something punchy and political? Either way, Spike never misses.
Tonya Lewis Lee
Guest status: Confirmed
Producer, advocate, and Spike Lee’s partner, Tonya Lewis Lee will also be attending. Her red carpet appearances are always defined by elegance with a modern edge — expect nothing less.
Tyla
Guest status: Confirmed
South African breakout sensation Tyla will be gracing the Met carpet for the second time – who could forget her sand hourglass look from last year? While she’s not tied to any Houses at the moment, she is an official Pandora ambassador – so will likely be dripped in their jewels.
Tyler The Creator
Guest status: Unconfirmed
Always the wildcard, Tyler has yet to appear on a Met Gala carpet (crazy, we know). But if he finally shows, expect a preppy, eccentric twist on formalwear — maybe an updated riff on his favourite Golf le Fleur aesthetic.
Usher
Guest status: Confirmed
Fresh off a career renaissance and Super Bowl halftime show from last year, Usher is confirmed as one of the events hosting committee.
Zendaya
Guest status: Unconfirmed
The Met’s unofficial queen is unconfirmed for 2025, but we live in hope. With Law Roach back in her orbit, should she attend, it will undoubtedly be the night’s crowning moment.
