Dead Kennedys have announced their return to Australia, playing five capital-city dates in September 2025. The tour is part of the American punk veterans’ world tour, entitled Give Me Dystopia Or Give Me Death. The full list of tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
Ahead of the Australian dates, the band will also play two shows in New Zealand: One at Auckland’s Powerstation on Tuesday, September 16th, and another at Meow Nui in Wellington the following day. Tickets for the former can be found here via Ticketmaster, and here for the latter via Ticketek.
The band were last in Australia circa 2018, which saw them play a run of sold-out east coast shows. The tour ended up being their final Australian gigs with founding drummer D.H. Peligro – who passed away in 2022 at the age of 63. The band were originally slated to be on the Pandemonium Festival line-up in 2024, but were one of several acts that were ultimately cut from the line-up alongside Deep Purple, Placebo, Gang Of Four and Petch.

The band’s Australian tour will coincide with the 45th anniversary of their debut studio album, Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables, which was released in September of 1980. The album includes the band’s signature song ‘Holiday In Cambodia’ , and has been certified Gold in both the US and UK. It has been included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, as well as on NME‘s 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time list.
