How to Assemble the Ninja FlexFlame

Get your Ninja FlexFlame set up quickly. This tutorial provides clear instructions and an assembly video to help you every step of the way.

What’s Included

Assembling the Ninja FlexFlame is quite easy. In fact, it’s one of the easiest grills I’ve ever put together.

Ninja FlexFlame parts.

Each part and screw is wrapped in plastic with a sticker on the outside identifying the part or the step that it’s used in. This makes finding the parts so easy. And because the stickers are on the plastic packaging, you don’t have to peel them off of the metal.

The grill comes with a step-by-step assembly guide with pictures and text. Plus, you can download the BILT app for virtual interactive instructions.

Or, just watch my YouTube video at the top of this post. I’ll walk you through every step.

Assembling Ninja FlexFlame base.

Assembling the Base

  1. Open the box and remove everything except for the main part of the grill. You’ll see each piece comes wrapped in plastic with a sticker identifying the part.
  2. Add the wheels to the bottom of the cart. The locking wheels go toward the front.
  3. Add the door stop tot he base with two small screws.
  4. Flip the cart right side up and add the side walls. You’ll start by partially adding a screw in the front and the back. Then, you’ll place the wall over those screws and slide it. The tighten those screws and add a center screw.
  5. Add the back panel the same way. Partially add the top screw and slide the panel into place. Then, secure all of the screws.
  6. Next, you’ll add a tank divider rod. The rounded curve goes toward the front. The instructions say to add the back side of the hook first, but I found it easier to add the front side and then push in the back part.
  7. Add the front brace just like you did the back panel by partially inserting screws into the top two holes. Then, adding the remaining screws.

Adding the Grill

You’ll need two people for this step.

  1. Before lifting the main part of the grill onto the base, you’ll need to remove all of the items that are stored inside.
  2. Then, look for the orange stickers that say lift here. Place your hands where the stickers are and lift it out of the box onto the cart. The pegs will slide into the corners. Secure them with screws.
  3. Next, add the left table with the provided nuts and wrench.
  4. For the right table, you’ll need to cut the zip strip that holds the control panel. Also, remove the sticker to the left of the valve stem.
  5. Slide the shelf over the valve stem and secure.
  6. Add the control panel. Make sure the tab goes into the hole on the front. Then, slide it to the right. Secure with screws on the back side.
  7. Feed the propane regulator hose into the cart and secure the bracket with a screw to hold it in place.
  8. Add the grease tray rails, making sure the one with the dip is installed on the right.
  9. Add the propane heat shield. It should catch on the tabs on the left. Also make sure that the bowl shape is facing down. Secure with two screws.

Final Steps

  1. Press the dial onto the valve stem.
  2. Add the main burner flame tamers on top of the burners. Make sure that the rectangle hole is the the right and the oval hole is to the left.
  3. Add the pilot burner flame tamer on top perpendicular to the main flame tamers.
  4. Add the grill grates and top cooking rack inside the grill.
  5. Insert the grease tray, sliding it onto the rails.
  6. Install the left base cabinet by placing the peg in the bottom hole. There is a tab at the upper part of the cart. Press that down and slide the door under it until it snaps in place. Repeat with the right door.

Get Cooking

Now that your grill is fully assembled, move it to your permanent location. Be sure it’s at least 3 feet from any flammable structure.

Remove all of the stickers inside and outside of the grill. If you peel them off slowly, they shouldn’t leave behind any residue.

Add your propane tank and screw on the regulator hose. The manual provides more detailed instructions to ensure there are no gas leaks.

Connect a three-prong extension cord that is rated for outdoor use to the grill’s plug.

Turn on the gas, ignite the pilot burner and turn the dial to grill. Look inside the grill to make sure you see a flame. Adjust the temperature to 600F degrees. Leave the grill on for at least 20 minutes to burn off any manufacturer’s residue.

Now, you’re ready for your first cook on the Ninja Flex Flame.
