Fried chicken dive bar Chuck Trailer’s is serving up more than just slutty burgers and booze in Sydney’s CBD. After expanding from its home in Bondi last week to officially launch a new restaurant venue on York Street, the chook slingers also popped the cherry on a brand new skate-rock venue down in the basement, where you can watch bands rip it in the middle of a half-pipe.
Appropriately dubbed ‘Chuck Trailer’s Basement’, the freshly minted venue is back in action tomorrow night (Thursday, 20th March) to toast its one week anniversary, with a girthy five-band bill headlined by local rock/hardcore crossover act Bare Bones, who’ll be doubling the celebrations with a launch party for their new EP, CEREMONIAL RAGE.
Curated by the maniac brains behind the late great Frankie’s Pizza AKA the newly launched NITE-RITE Entertainment company, the bash will also feature sets from Live Like Animals, Raising Ravens, Death Penalty and Electric.
They’ll all be tearing it up on the half-pipe stage in a scene dripping with 90’s nostalgia. Think truck-bed booth seating, punk murals and walls plastered in Thrasher mags.
You can also expect plenty of tantalising bev options, with a six-metre-long back bar packed with more than 300 (!!) American whiskeys, disco cocktails, plus 16 beers on tap.
Even better? Entry is fkn FREE!
