April 2025 Month Ahead Astrology Highlights: Venus Direct in Pisces + Mercury and Mars into Fire Signs
To my mind, April is when some of the more specific astrology of 2025 will begin.
April is also when some of the lingering influences of the astrology of late 2024 and early 2025 subside, especially those to do with Mars in Cancer, Mars retrograde, and Mars opposite Pluto, which has influenced so much of the astrological themes since September 2024.
Eclipse season will end on April 5, creating a slightly more stable and less chaotic quality, as the Sun moves away from the nodal axis.
The first expressions of Neptune in Aries will arrive, and April may bring forward many of the new energies and themes that will inform your life and inspire your dreams for the months and years to come.
April Astrology Highlights

Mercury station direct in Pisces, April 7
Venus station direct in Pisces, April 12
Mercury into Aries, April 16
Mars into Leo, April 18
Each of these shifts will bring an improvement to the condition and function of the planet. In turn, this can help you sort out a messy situation or untangle confusion.
Mercury and Venus direct can bring second chances, especially for missed or delayed opportunities from March.
Fire Signs and Future Vision
With two of the quicker planets, Mercury and Mars, moving into fire signs mid-month, (Mercury into Aries and Mars into Leo), there’ll be a drier, clearer quality that can help you focus on what is, and might inspire you with a vision or goal for your future.
Expect major moves and the guts to make a brave decision, especially in the second half of April.
You might crave a new plan and find you’re ready for action, or at least you’re willing to discuss a bold, bright idea. Mercury and Mars in fire signs can be courageous and decisive and can help you implement a new initiative.
Full Moon in Libra and New Moon in Taurus: Venus Signatures
Both the lunations in April are ruled by Venus, who will be in Pisces, the sign of Venus’ exaltation, most of the month.
This can help bring softness, forgiveness, repair or resolution to damaged relationships.
The Full Moon in Libra on April 12 occurs as Venus stations direct, helping you release the past and tune into the best ways to move forward, together. Repair and reconciliation will be possible.
The New Moon in Taurus in April 27 has Venus placed in the auspicious 11th position to the New Moon itself, a favourable and helpful omen. This will be a wonderful New Moon for beginnings and sweet intentions.
Clarity, Reality and True Commitments: Venus conjunct Saturn
One signature aspect theme for April will be Venus in Pisces conjunct Saturn in Pisces, as Venus will make two exact conjunctions with Saturn in Pisces on April 7 and 24. In addition, Venus will simply be near Saturn all month, never more than 3 degrees away.
Expect clarity around desires, leisure, relaxation, beauty, art and relationship matters. You may be ready to make a lasting commitment, to a person, habit, practice or ritual. And you may realise what you have outgrown and are ready to end or leave behind. A deeper appreciation for safe limits and healthy containment might emerge too.
April: Onwards
In general, April looks clarifying and grounding and may bring progress on a stalled or messy situation. It also offers the potential for repair and reconnection.
