Presidential candidate Donald Trump watched the Ultimate Fighting Championship Saturday ringside.
Trump entered the UFC 302 event held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey to roaring applause and a standing ovation alongside UFC President Dana White. It was Trump’s first appearance since a Manhattan jury found him guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records. The last time he attended a fight was in March, before his trial began.
UFC fans were seen cheering, waving, and taking pictures with the former president.
Trump often attends UFC events with White, but this time he seemingly attended without any other guests or family members alongside him. Kid Rock joined Trump at UFC 296 in Las Vegas in December. Rock and Trump have been known to attend fights together. The fight after that he was with his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Russain Islam Makhachev won the lightweight title fight, while American Sean Strickland won his middleweight fight. American Kevin Holland also won his middleweight fight, with American Niko Price and Jamaican Randy Brown winning their respective welterweight fights. Holland’s fight was over in just over 90 seconds.
