Journalist Hamish Macdonald to present ABC Radio Sydney Mornings program, 2025 presenter line-up announced

ABC Radio Sydney has unveiled changes to its presenter line-up, with journalist Hamish Macdonald to take on the Mornings show from Monday.

An award-winning journalist, Macdonald is a co-host of the Radio National podcast Global Roaming and The Project on Channel Ten and has also filled in as a presenter on Radio Sydney’s programs in recent years.

He has also reported from conflicts in Afghanistan, Libya and Ukraine and covered uprisings in Egypt and Hong Kong.

Hamish Macdonald interviews Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski.

“I hope listeners will be able to count on me to hold the pollies and the powerful to account, upholding the great traditions of 702,” Macdonald said.

“There’s so much to talk about this year — and where better to do it from than the heart of this great city, Parramatta Square.

“Sydney is such a dynamic city with no shortage of great stories to share, so I’m really looking forward to opening the phone lines.”

Macdonald has regularly presented with the ABC since 2016, including stints on television with Q&A and Radio National Breakfast.

The Mornings show was previously presented by Sarah Macdonald, who hosted the show for two years.

In November last year she revealed on-air that she would not be returning to the station in 2025.
