[unpaid/sample] So many new brand founders have already earned their stripes at one of the big beauty companies. That’s exactly the case for French brand, PERS, which has recently hit the UK shores. Sophie-Lisa Percheur and Quentin Douce have Estee Lauder and Lancome respectively under their belts and are working with the aesthetic doctor, Dr Antoni Calmon, noted for his light touch with injectables. PERS stands for Protect, Enhance, Repair and Stimulate and for a change, it’s not a brand that encourages excess when it comes to number of products on your face.
I have a lot of skin care to test so I requested something that I could give an immediate view on – I already love the sound of this brand for its simplicity – so I have the Glow Balm to tell you about. Honestly, it is so French. Possibly one of the most understated beauty products I own, this healthy-glow (bonne mine) cheek and lip balm is a delight. It has a tiny, tiny amount of pH active ingredient that adapts to your skin tone to give a freshened look to either cheeks of lips. When I say freshened, I mean, other than the subtle gleam it leaves, it’s more or less untraceable which I think is the point. Your skin (including lips) has a higher pH than a cosmetic product which triggers a reaction that converts to a colour. As temperature plays a part in this, I will bet that the colour is stronger in warmer climes.
In terms of balminess, Glow Balm has hit the perfect point of feeling like oil on the skin but behaving like balm. It’s enriched with peptides, caffeine and Vitamin C so the texture is immediately at home on the complexion. I liked the instant cheek highlight it gave – I just think if any product is going to be in every magazine, in every model’s handbag and on every beauty page, it’s this, not least for the ‘anti-greyish’ effect which is not something I’ve come across before but I’m invested already in not being considered grey skinned.
PERS is really one to watch – if you’re curious to try any of it, other than the Glow Balm, I’d recommend shelling out the EU4.90 for a sample set that will give you a good over-view. Actually, the EU4.90 is for the postage – the sample sachet set HERE, containing three products (Vitamin C Serum 10%, Light Cream and Retinol Cream) is free.
