We’re always looking for a new way to wear an old classic. And that definitely applies to the French manicure, which remains the most popular nail style according to search data. The result has been a sea of colorful French tips, reverse, double, hollow, chrome and every other trend you can imagine. And this time, we have something truly unique: French flip nails.
What is a French Flip?
We recently saw a huge surge in double reverse French nails, worn recently by Kelsey Ballerini. French flip nails are along the same lines, with one key difference. Instead of outlining the tip and inside of the nail fully like parentheses, this style flips halfway.
The result is a half-French tip that draws back to the base of your nail, continuing the other half of the French design in the moon of your nail. The final product should appear almost like a capital ‘S’, hugging the tip and then the base of your nail on opposite sides. A clean line in the center connects the two halves.
And it’s no surprise that the similar French flip is also a style that celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt, who created Ballerini’s Grammy Awards look, has mastered!
