Total marijuana sales in Missouri reached just under $125 million for the month of March, yet another new record for the state, which just launched recreational cannabis sales in February last year.
The Show-Me State’s cannabis sales topped $108.7 million on the adult-use side and $16 million on the medical side, for a total of $124.7 million, according to statistics from the state Department of Health and Senior Services.
That’s an increase in both categories month-over-month, from $98.3 million in recreational and $15.1 million in medical the Missouri marijuana industry sold in February. Prior to March, the biggest sales month in the state’s cannabis industry was December last year, with $106.4 million in adult-use sales and $16.8 million in medical sales, a total of $123.1 million.
Total sales since the state began tracking marijuana commerce also reached $2.29 billion last month.
Plus, the industry is still expanding. The 218 licensed dispensaries currently in operation will be joined by a new batch of microbusinesses this summer, and the application portal for those is open April 15-29, according to a press release. Last fall, DHHS handed out 48 microbusiness permits.
