Kelly Ripa isn’t ruling out a cosmetic refresh. On the Tuesday, February 4 episode of her podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, the 54-year-old talk show host welcomed New York City plastic surgeon David Rosenberg, MD, and candidly shared that she’s “interested in the mini facelift.”
If you’re new to the mini facelift, “the biggest difference between a mini facelift and a full facelift is the extent of the lift,” Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Kimberly Lee, MD previously told NewBeauty. “A mini facelift results in more subtle improvements and is usually reserved for younger patients who don’t have significant jowling or skin laxity.”
Should Ripa decide to move forward with the tweakment, there’s no question who she’d trust to do the honors. “‘He’s an artist…he makes actual art,” she said of Dr. Rosenberg, before adding: “Dr. Rosenberg is our Taylor Swift,” she joked.
Ripa’s approach to cosmetic treatments has evolved over the years—and in a way that feels refreshingly relatable. During her most recent conversation with Dr. Rosenberg, she described herself as a “minimalist” when it comes to procedures but admitted she’s gradually done more. “I used to get Botox just in my armpits to stop from sweating,” she recalled. “One day I said, ‘Do you think I should put Botox in my face?’ And [Dr Rosenberg] looked at me and he goes, ‘I thought this day would never come.’ And I was like ‘Oh my God, I needed Botox’…there’s a sweet spot.” Now, she gets Botox three times per year.
Her transparency around tweakments is a welcome shift in the conversation around cosmetic procedures, especially considering how mainstream these procedures have become. If she does decide to move forward with a mini facelift, we have no doubt she’ll share the deets.
