Weekend Wisdom: The next time things get hard or you don’t feel well, instead of pushing through, try resting through.
This helped.
It’s been a rollercoaster of a week on the internet. The Be More with Less Facebook page was hacked. Not only did I lose connection with a beautiful audience of 350,000 people and more than 10 years of content, but I spent way too much time and energy trying to get it all back. If you’ve been affected by this at all, I’m so sorry. It was a great reminder that the best way for us to stay in touch is through email. If you aren’t an email subscriber, please join here for consistent connection. Hopefully we’ll get this other issue resolved swiftly. I was also reminded that working harder on something doesn’t make me feel better. Usually, resting and taking care is the smarter choice. A walk under these trees made me feel better even though nothing else changed.

Since we are all about simplicity over here, I thought I’d share a thought about letting go of sentimental items from my first book, Soulful Simplicity.
Sentimental items can be the most challenging to release, but remember that less isn’t none. You don’t have to give up all of it but it’s good to consider how you might enjoy and appreciate what you do keep. I understand how emotional this process is. I’m sentimental and easily moved to tears. I get teary hearing stories about my grandparents when they were young, or cooking one of favorite dishes from childhood. I know all too well that sorting through your sentimental items will spark powerful emotions, including sadness and fear, but those emotions cannot compete with the strength of your love. You are so much more than what you own or don’t own. If you want a joyful life that is full of love and happiness, align your actions with your heart. Our hearts know that our real treasures are not in the attic or contained in any physical thing. Our hearts know that real treasures are smiles, tears, moments and our loved ones.
