These have been out for a while now and they are either the repackaged version of their old crayons or a completely new formula. I never had the previous version, so I can’t compare. In any case, these are lovely and I pick up shade 03 a lot. Claims mention them being waterproof, transfer-proof, matte, comfortable, easy to use and precise – some of these thing are true, some less so, but they are great lip colours nonetheless.
These have an intense pigmentation, so they are one-swipe lip colours. Formula is creamy and it doesn’t drag on the lips. They are matte, but not dry/fully matte, so they feel comfortable, but they aren’t moisturising. Shade 06 Framboise Griffée stands out, as it’s more matte than the others. I wouldn’t say they are transfer-proof, but they last on the lips well.
01 Nudifull
01 Nudifull, 02 Amou-Rose and 03 In Mauve Again are about the same depth, the difference is in the undertones: 01 is a warm beige
02 Amou-Rose
02 Amou-Rose is a warm light pink, similar to their 02 Frozen Rose shade is the The Velvet lipsticks range.
03 In Mauve Again
03 is a mauve light rose, the most neutral shade of the three I mentioned as being the same depth. It’s a shade that looks very different from the colour of the packaging, as it’s lighter.
06 Framboise Griffée
06 Framboise Griffée is another shade that has a deceptive packaging, which is a subdued rosy-red shade, but on the lips this packs a punch, as it’s a very vibrant warm magenta. Its formula is the most matte one.
Though they are pencils, I can’t say they are so precise you could use them as a lip liner, unless you manage to wear them down to a finer tip. I miss a sharpener like Maybelline’s Superstay Ink Crayons to just sharpen the tip. These have a wind up mechanism.
Staying power depends on the shade. The lighter ones last less long, obviously, but you still get a good wear time of several hours.
