collage from the dracula 1992 and nosferatu 2024 movies

A few weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty and sadness of Nosferatu, a masterful film by director Robert Eggers. The inspiration behind the original screenplay is the legendary Bram Stoker’s Dracula, an iconic novel filled with vampire aesthetics and energy.

Whether you’ve seen the movie or heard of the original, silent version, you’ll definitely love my blog post today, as I want to dedicate it to the nail designs, inspired by the dark vibe of the new Nosferatu movie. So, are you ready to fall in love with the following look? Beware, as some of the nails are so gorgeous, you’ll be dreaming of them!

Vyshyvanka Motifs on the nails

#1. Vyshyvanka Motifs

Let’s start with these red and white Vyshyvanka-inspired nails. A big part of Dracula’s story takes place near the Carpathian Mountains, so I thought that the traditional Eastern European motifs would be a source of inspiration for today’s compilation. Created by the talented nail master Daryna Lypovska, this look will conquer your heart!

nosferatu-inspired black and white nails that look like claws

#2. Black Fog

Nosferatu aka Count Orlok aka Dracula manifested to Mina through the appearance of the fog or mist, which is only a few of his many shapeshifting abilities. Therefore these long, claw-like nails, covered in black, white, and gray color gradients will perfectly represent Nosferatu’s elusive nature. What do you think?

#3. Nude Nails with a Twist

If you are a fan of something softer and natural but still want to experience the dark beauty feel, check out this nude-ish French tip with a gold twist. When I saw this nail look, I knew I had to bring it here! The longer the almond-shaped fingertips, the more mysterious these nail designs look, but if you don’t like them long, make them short; you’ll still love the final manicure!

Blue clay Roses on Milky Nude nail base

#4. Blue Roses on Milky Nude

I know that the next nail design won’t be for everyone, but I had to include a nail design that features melancholic, blue roses. This is a symbol of mystery, that goes like a silver lining through both stories. Log, squared nails in a milky-nude shade contrast with voluminous clay roses and gems, creating a wonderful appeal.

Romani-inspired Nails covered in gems and sparkles

#5. Romani-inspired Nails

Another great culture, that has its heart in the Carpathians, are Romani people. This nomadic lifestyle has influenced their cultural practices and traditions, leading to a unique blend of various cultural influences. Bright, bold, sparkling: that’s all you need to think of when recreating this nail look.

#6. Syringa Flowers for Ellen

Nail artist Carrie Williams created the most beautiful nail look I’ve ever seen. This look reminds me of a particular shot from the Nosferatu movie – Ellen, holding a bouquet of lilac flowers. Lilacs are a symbol of love, femininity, and new beginnings, and their versatile color looks great with both every day and evening outfits.

Crimson to Clear Nails with Crosses

#7. Crimson to Clear Nails with Crosses

Once I spotted this nail look, I fell so, so much in love with it! Oh, how I wish my real nails had grown so long. Stilleto with crimson to clear color, decorated with black crosses all over. Isn’t it precious? If you can’t handle the length, you can easily reduce it, transforming your vampiric stilettos into gracious almonds.

#8. Vitrage Manicure

A true goth nail design calls for stained glass sparkle. This gorgeous nail technique is very elaborate and unique, so you’ll need to dedicate a few hours of your time and place a high degree of trust in your nail technician to execute this project.

#9. Lady Moth

One of Dracula’s most devoted minions, R. M. Renfield, would love to wear this nail look. Me too! Why not? It has the whole package: spiders, moths, scarabs and even dragonflies. Anything else you’d like to add? Feel free to upgrade your next nail experiment.

Baddie Coffin Nails with bats

#10. Baddie Coffin Nails

And, finally, how about we end today’s list with baddie coffin nails (where do you think Nosferatu sleeps during the day?) I love how balanced this manicure looks. The nude base grows into an elegant coffin-shaped nail, generously adorned with bat silhouettes. And what are your thoughts, is it a legitimate number 10 for the list?

Concluding…

So there you have it – 10 Nosferatu-inspired nail designs to sink your teeth into. What are your thoughts on them? Which one is your favorite? My heart is somewhere in between stilleto crosses and goldish-nude design, very polar, but both so thrilling. Whether you’re a gothic glamour girl or just a fan of classic horror, all 10 spooky styles are sure to turn heads!
