It’s the FINAL day of dip week and I think you’re really going to love the last dip that I have in store for you! It’s this VEGAN Tofu Queso and I think it’s going to be your new fav plant based dip 🙂
This recipe is inspired by the viral Cottage Cheese Queso recipe that swept social media recently. It’s pretty much the same recipe BUT with silken tofu instead of cottage cheese. The taste and texture are very similar PLUS it has a comparable amount of protein in it.
Why you’ll LOVE this Tofu Nacho Cheese Sauce
It’s an EASY vegan recipe -we all love those! It’s great for serving at parties or even just as a side for taco night!
It’s nut-free – most vegan cheese sauces have cashews or some other kind of nut in them. While I truly LOVE a good cashew queso, this nut free option is even easier and has less fat in it.
It’s dairy-free – perfect for those people in your life that don’t like/ can’t consume dairy 🙂
It’s an amazing vegan cheese option – the cheesy flavor of this queso is SO good and the texture is creamy and smooth!
Ingredients in this Tofu Queso
Silken tofu – I’ve seen some recipes that call for firm or extra firm tofu for a cheese sauce by I’ve found that silken tofu works best. It results in an ULTRA creamy dip plus no pressing of the tofu is required.
Lime juice – this is actually optional but I like the little bit of flavor and acidity that it offers.
Taco seasoning – I use about 1-2 tablespoons of taco seasoning in this recipe. This is the lazy way of making it but you can obviously make your own taco seasoning as desired (which is a simple mix of spices such as paprika, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, etc).
Nutritional yeast – this helps give the queso a cheesy flavor.
How to make Vegan Queso Dip
One of my favorite parts about this recipe is how EASY it is!
Simply add ALL of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until creamy and smooth. THAT’S IT!
You can taste it and add any additional seasonings (salt, pepper, more taco seasoning, etc). Then, just serve it up with your favorite tortilla chips and/or veggies.

Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until creamy smooth.
Taste and adjust seasoning + add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with tortilla chips and ENJOY!
Notes
I suggest starting with 1 1/2 tablespoons of taco seasoning and then you can add a little more later as desired.
