Each year our national board and headquarter staff strives to move AFWA forward. I want to thank not only our headquarters team but our management company Associations International for supporting AFWA as we prepare for this needed growth phase. Thank you to all our volunteers who serve on the National Board, Foundation Board, committees and special projects for their commitment and passion for AFWA. Leveraging their expertise, enthusiasm and support we will continue to grow AFWA for years to come.
Our increased outreach efforts are paying off with additional partners and corporate members. New partnerships allow us additional opportunities to support our members. Together our volunteers and staff have expanded our conference sponsors and exhibitors. Members can help support this effort by visiting with exhibitors while at conference and connecting with sponsors during the year for webinars, resources and taking advantage of product discounts. Let us know what partners, services and products would make your lives easier and we will work to include those in our outreach. We are streamlining the process for corporate members – so let us know if your company could benefit from this option.
You will notice a renewed focus on adding and promoting member benefits. More members are taking advantage of our Find a Pro Directory and product discount programs. We are expanding the certifications our continuing education supports to meet the needs of current and future members. To help members build their skills we are launching the Leadership Academy with two programs, an online leadership certificate course and a spring leadership conference. The initial cohort for the online program will launch this month and details are being finalized for the in person leadership conference this spring. Mark your calendars for June 24th-27th so you don’t miss the great programming and AFWA fun. Our board members had a great training session before the Women Who Count Conference helping us identify effective messaging around our member value proposition. Incorporating these values and benefits will improve recruiting and retention efforts.
We continue to engage members with volunteer opportunities including board committee, conference planning, LEAP Council, Chapter Coaches, content partners and a new partnership development committee. Whether you are a new member just getting involved or a long time member wanting to share your experience, we have formal and information opportunities available. Consider this a personal invitation to get involved – I’m sure we can find the right fit for your time and talents.
Thank you to our members for your support and dedication to the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance! The more you put into your association experience, the more you get out of it. I encourage you to make the most of your AFWA membership. We are all here to help you get the most out on your AFWA journey. Together we will continue to move AFWA forward.
