Thanks, to Mark Schultz for some pointers on smoke pictures. I miss seeing Mark’s excellent photo’s.
I saw some of Mark’s smoke photos a little over a year ago on Flickr. So, last winter, during the long dark days I decided to try photographing smoke. It turned out to be a lot of fun. Kept me busy weekend mornings. Jan, put up with the smell of incense burning for about 3 hours each weekend. The house smelled of it for several days afterwards. But, it gave me something to do. Really, how bad can that be! 😉 I finally figured out how to get some color in the smoke. Actually started getting a rainbow effect. Didn’t use any colored gels or flash. I just experimented with different coatings on the incense and started getting the rainbow colors.
