Deadpool & Wolverine features a lot of cameo appearances, including one by Ryan Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively. Although the actor only provided the voice for Ladypool, who is physically played by stuntwoman Christiaan Bettridge, she made a much bigger contribution to the film behind the scenes.
The movie’s third act immediately showed that Deadpool and Wolverine had survived after destroying the Time Ripper. Speaking on the film’s audio commentary track via GamesRadar+, Reynolds and director Shawn Levy explained how a suggestion from Lively prompted them to change that. “It used to be that there was no suspense… that the power room blew up, and our heroes had survived,” Levy said. “It was Blake Lively who said to us, ‘You know, I’ve been with you this whole movie. I want to sit in the fear that they’re lost. Let me be in that place of suspense, so the triumph of their survival is more emotional and visceral.'”

Why Kelsey Grammer Didn’t Want Jane Leeves in Frasier (& Who Almost Played Daphne Instead)
Jane Leeves is best known for playing Daphne Moon in the hit sitcom Frasier. Yet, many fans don’t know that she wasn’t the show’s first pick.
“That was a Blake note, and it really opened up a new way of thinking about this part of the movie, and it’s why we did this reshoot… and, here, the payoff is so much more satisfying,” Levy continued. Reynolds also talked about how quickly the additional filming was completed. “We did just a day-and-a-half of reshoots on the movie, which we’re very proud of,” he said. “These kinds of movies typically involve weeks of reshoots. But this speech that Matthew [Macfadyen] has is one of the pieces that we reshot. And he is miraculous.”
Per the official synopsis, “Deadpool & Wolverine finds Wade Wilson (Reynolds) with his past as the morally flexible Deadpool behind him, until he finds himself in a fight for the survival of his home world and must suit-up again – and convince a reluctant Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) to help him.” Other cast members include Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, and Aaron Stanford. The movie was a massive hit, earning $1.33 billion worldwide at the global box office.

Will There Be A Deadpool 4?
Although Reynolds recently discussed the character’s future in the MCU without confirming or denying an appearance in the upcoming Avengers movies, the actor says he’s in no rush to return for Deadpool 4. “I would love that, but there’s a reason it’s been six years since the last one,” the actor explained. “It just sort of swallows my life whole, and I, you know, have four kids that I wouldn’t mind introducing myself to at some point and spending a little time, just walking them to and from school.”
Meanwhile, Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently hinted at the future of the superhero duo, telling fans in attendance at Disney’s D23 event in Brazil that, “the plans with Deadpool and Wolverine will always be the same – we’re always wondering where we can fit them in, and how quickly.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is streaming on Disney+. The movie is also available to purchase in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Limited Edition Steelbook format.
