Boruto’s Strongest Manga Characters Right Now, Ranked

With the latest chapter of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, there’s been a complete reshuffling for the strongest candidates in the series. Boruto himself is surely up there, but given the latest developments regarding the Sentient God Trees, the title of strongest is hotly debatable. That is to say that certain shinobi have risen to the challenge while others have fallen by the wayside.

Overall, while the 10 strongest characters in the Boruto series are likely to change and change soon, there’s always someone at the top of the peak and only the greatest shinobi are capable of rising to the occasion and becoming legendary. While monsters run amuck, only humanity’s last hope is capable of saving the world from the Sentient God Tree menace.

10 Himawari Uzumaki’s Perfect Compatibility With Kurama

The Nine-Tails’ Newest Jinchuriki

The new kid on the block, Himawari Uzumaki, has surpassed her peers and then some as the newest jinchuriki of Kurama. Without any explanation, the Nine-Tails revived within Himawari and partnered with her to form the most compatible partnership of any jinchuriki, even surpassing Naruto’s compatibility with Kurama after a lifetime of working together. Despite his former partnership with Naruto, Kurama has settled in quite nicely with Himawari as his new jinchuriki, giving her the necessary strength to stall and even damage Jura after just awakening her new abilities.

Every Main Character’s Age in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Two Blue Vortex starts after a three-year time skip, with many characters having changed either their appearance or attitudes in unexpected ways.

Himawari may only be a genin, but she’s already surpassed Naruto at the same age with how well she’s adapted to her new role as a jinchuriki, plus she has a vast arsenal of dojutsu abilities from her byakugan. At the same age, Naruto could barely control Kurama’s chakra, let alone utilize the Nine-Tails’ power on command like Himawari. It’s safe to say the next generation is on track to not only surpass the previous generation, but completely overshadow them as the strongest shinobi in history. Himawari is quite literally the strongest genin of her class and one of the strongest shinobi of the new era.

9 Kashin Koji’s Sage Mode Rivals Jiraiya the Gallant

Ten Directions Allows Kashin Koji to Foresee the Future

Kashin Koji is training Naruto's son in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Kashin Koji may be Jiraiya’s clone, but he’s established himself as a master Toad Sage with all of Jiraiya’s abilities and then some. Not to mention his shinjutsu ability, Ten Directions, which allows Kashin Koji to foresee the future of every possible timeline. He has the strength and skill as a shinobi to be among the greats, even without his shinjutsu ability, but with it, Kashin Koji is truly one of the most powerful shinobi in Boruto.

While Jiraiya searched for the Child of Prophecy to save the future of the world, Kashin Koji worked undercover within Kara all for the sole goal of assassinating Jigen. More underhanded than Jiraiya, sure, but just as effective for the future of the world. Jiraiya the Gallant may not have had the same level of sage mastery as Kashin Koji, but he had the guts and heart to rival any shinobi worth their salt. That is to say that while Kashin Koji has some big shoes to fill, he’s on track to truly become a sage worthy of the title of gallant.

8 Mitsuki’s Sage Transformation is Unstoppable

Mitsuki’s Newfound Light and Strength

Mitsuki activates his snakes in Sage Mode in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Mitsuki has already established himself as a worthy successor to Orochimaru, both morally and as a shinobi. While his parent did inexcusable deeds for the sake of power and immortality, Mitsuki chose a different path. Instead of walking down a dark and lonely road ike his creator, Mitsuki has found a light to guide him in Boruto Uzumaki. Thanks to his friends and connection to the light, Mitsuki has truly separated himself from Orochimaru’s evil to carve out his own path in both name and deed.

Mitsuki’s Sage Transformation and Sage Mode have given him unparalleled strength as a shinobi, easily making him one of the strongest shinobi of the new generation and the Leaf Village as a whole. Even certain legacy characters can’t match Mitsuki’s power and skill. And after the time skip, Mitsuki’s true power has only yet to surface. Once he rediscovers his light, Mitsuki could even rival Boruto’s power.

7 Eida’s Control Over Reality

Omnipotence Cannot be Countered

Eida's Love for Kawaki in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

By herself, Eida isn’t all that powerful. She can supposedly use taijutsu, but beyond that, she has absolutely no combat prowess and, considering she isn’t a shinobi, it’s not all that surprising. That being said, according to Amado, Eida can rival Jigen’s strength, but it’s unclear how. The only thing that’s certain is her broken shinjutsu ability, which makes Eida one of the strongest characters in the history of Naruto, all thanks to Omnipotence. Unlike other jutsu that can change the world, Eida’s Omnipotence can completely rewrite reality to suit her whims, if only she could control it, that is.

Boruto: What Are the Thorn Soul Bulbs?

The Boruto: Two Blue Vortex time-jump has created a massive new mystery called the Thorn Soul Bulbs that are linked to the Ōtsutsuki dynasty.

Since Eida isn’t part of the Otsutsuki Clan, she doesn’t have direct control over Omnipotence, only being able to use the shinjutsu ability subconsciously. But even without direct control, Eida is an unstoppable force and one of the most dangerous individuals currently alive in the story. Omnipotence’s passive charm ability makes everyone around Eida fall madly in love with her and with that power alone, according to Shikamaru, Eida could take over the entire world. It’s only a shame her charm ability is the direct result of her wish to be loved.

6 Kawaki’s Growth Rivals Boruto

Kawaki Will Become Boruto’s Greatest Adversary

Kawaki kills Hidari in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Kawaki’s taken great strides to rival Boruto in strength, but he isn’t quite there yet. Before the time skip, both were somewhat evenly matched, but now? Kawaki can barely hold a candle to Boruto’s strength. He might not be able to defeat his brother directly, but even so, Kawaki’s power cannot be understated. Thanks to his Karma, Kawaki is one of the strongest shinobi alive in Boruto, with his strength rivaling that of any Otsutsuki, having control over all the abilities of the Kokugan and every other power associated with the Otsutsuki Clan.

Despite Kawaki’s overwhelming strength, he is still rather weak compared to other characters, but his progression as a shinobi is only surpassed by Boruto. That is to say, that while Kawaki may not be at his brother’s level currently, there’s still a lot of time for Kawaki to once again become Boruto’s equal and, when that happens, the two brothers will finally settle things once and for all over the ruins of the Leaf Village.

5 Code’s Triumph Over Sasuke

Code’s Power Rivals Jigen

As the strongest member of Kara and an Inner Circle of the organization, Code stands as Isshiki’s successor with the sole goal of avenging his master by killing Boruto and Kawaki, all for the goal of becoming a fully-fledged Otsutsuki. Thanks to his shinjutsu ability, Code has the power to create claw marks by mixing chakra with his blood to create portals that stick to any surface, allowing Code to pop in and out to attack. While his shinjutsu ability may not be as flashy as Kashin Koji’s Ten Directions or Eida’s Omnipotence, Code’s claw marks allow him to dominate the battlefield and attack from opponents’ blind spot or even attack with his claw marks attached to a specific target.

10 Best Boruto Episodes, Ranked

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has had its ups and downs, but when the series shines, it really does deliver unforgettable episodes

Code may have been easily defeated by Boruto during his assault on the Leaf Village, but he stands as one of the strongest antagonists in the series. With the support of only a few Claw Grimes, Code managed to defeat Sasuke Uchiha and back the Leaf Village into a corner across several years until Boruto stopped him. Despite all appearances, Code is not to be underestimated and if he were a villain in the previous generation, Code would rival the strongest characters of the Akatsuki.

4 Ryu’s Awakening Threatens the World

Ryu is Newest Sentient God Tree

Ryu chokes Code in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

The Sentient God Trees‘ newest member. Ryu was born from Gaara’s chakra and shares many similarities with his chakra host, most notably magnet release, allowing Ryu to control iron sand from his clothing and he can even create Claw Marks just like Code. While the full extent of his power is yet to be revealed, it’s safe to say that Ryu is considerably stronger than Code, easily capturing him and believing he could kill Code without much effort. Ultimately, while Ryu may just be a newborn God Tree, he’s already stronger than the majority of the main cast.

Ryu may just have awakened, but his ceiling as a Sentient God Tree rivals even Jura as one of the most dangerous antagonists among the Sentient God Trees. Considering Boruto and Kawaki have teamed up to save Gaara, Ryu will inevitably reveal himself and give the two a fight of a lifetime and, with how strong both Uzumaki brothers are, Ryu’s power cannot be underestimated.

3 Daemon’s Defense is Unbreakable

Daemon’s Shinjutsu Counters Every Attack

Eida and Daemon accuse Sarada and Sumire in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

In terms of defense, Daemon is unrivaled. Thanks to his shinjutsu ability, Reflection, curtesy of Amado’s experiments using Shibai Otsutsuki’s cells, Daemon can deflect any hostility directed at him, both physical and even mental, as even thinking about harming Daemon will result in a concussive force being sent back. No matter the attack, jutsu, or ability, Daemon can deflect all hostility, making him stronger than Eida, Code, and possibly even Jigen himself.

While Daemon may not be the most mature person, his only care is protecting his older sister, Eida, and will do anything to keep her safe. Thanks to his blood relation with Eida, Daemon isn’t affected by Eida’s Omnipotence and could easily defeat her if necessary. However, while Daemon has an impenetrable defense, he lacks any real offensive abilities, so while he might not be able to follow up on whatever attack he reflects, in this individual and specific case, defense is truly the best offense, at least for Daemon.

2 Boruto Uzumaki Surpassed the 4th Hokage

Boruto’s on Track to Become the Strongest Shinobi

Kashin Koji and Boruto team up in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

The strongest shinobi of the current generation, Boruto Uzumaki, stands as the last real protector of the Leaf Village capable of defending it in such a chaotic era. Without Naruto and Sasuke around to protect the village, Boruto has risen to the challenge and put everything on the line for the sake of his friends and family. As the strongest current shinobi of the Leaf Village, despite his wanted nature, Boruto has mastered the Thunder God Technique and surpassed the 4th Hokage’s speed, continuing the Uzumaki trend of surpassing the previous generation.

Jura’s Plans in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 15, Explained

Chapter 15 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex reveals the demented Jura has shady plans that involve a scary new alliance and a ton of deceit on his part.

Before Sasuke was defeated by Code, Boruto learned everything from his mentor and even surpassed Sasuke’s own inherent abilities, copying all of his jutsu and techniques. Currently, Boruto’s strength combines Naruto’s jutsu and all of Sasuke’s fighting techniques into a perfect blend of power and adaptability. Not only did he learn everything his mentors could teach him, he even developed the strongest variant of the rasengan ever created, the Uzuhiko, allowing him to harness the rotational force of the planet. It’s safe to say that Boruto is the strongest shinobi of not only his generation, but in all of Konoha, now that Naruto and Sasuke have lost the majority of their power.

1 Jura is the Ten-Tails Incarnate

Jura is the Strongest Sentient God Tree

Jura stands as the strongest antagonist left in the series. As the leader of the Sentient God Trees and incarnation of the Ten-Tails itself, Jura is the most dangerous God Tree by far. He’s leagues ahead of his creator, Code, in terms of power and outclasses his fellow God Trees since his chakra host is the Ten-Tails itself. In a way, Jura is the Ten-Tails in humanoid form, with all the destructive power that entails. He may be powerful in terms of ability, but the greatest danger he poses is his unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a hungry curiosity to boot. Technically, Jura is a newborn with the power of a god.

Thanks to Jura’s rinnegan, he can produce Tailed Beast Bombs from his eye to create massive explosions equivalent to an actual Tailed Beast’s power. Not only does Jura have a rinnegan, he also has Wood Release, allowing him to create deadly wood structures that rival that of the first Hokage, Hashirama Senju. Boruto admitted that he couldn’t even defeat Jura without Kawaki’s help and even then it would be a hard-fought battle. Ultimately, while Jura stands as the current strongest character in Boruto, he won’t hold that title for long once Boruto and Kawaki reach their respective peaks as shinobi.
