- Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
- For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
- For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
- Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
- But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
MESSAGE:
The moment a fellow surrenders his or her life to Christ, a great building project begins in the Spirit as God lays a foundation, erects walls, removes debris, et cetera. However, anytime the fellow backslides, the building will be affected. For example, if a sculptor decides to carve an elephant out of a piece of wood and meets some resistance, he may decide to carve a monkey from the piece of wood instead. If the piece of wood breaks, the sculptor may decide to carve a rat with what is left, and if the wood breaks again and can no longer be used, the sculptor could decide to convert it to firewood.
People who backslide are just like pieces of wood that keep breaking. When such people get back on their feet, they cannot fit into God’s original plan for their lives again except by divine mercy.
Beloved, the main danger of backsliding is being thrown into hell. Please ask God for the grace to remain in the faith, and if you are out of the faith already, ask Him to restore you now.

Father, please keep my feet from falling, in Jesus’ name.
