If you’re booking with one of the Wyndham family of hotels including Days Inn, La Quinta, Howard Johnson, Ramada, and the others, make sure you don’t pay full price if you don’t have to. These Wyndham corporate codes and discounts could make a big difference.
Highlights Of How To Save Money At Wyndham
- Corporate codes – If you work for a company or are members of an organization that is partnered with Wyndham Hotels, you might be eligible to use them for discounts.
- Wyndham Rewards – This is their hotel loyalty program where you get access to Wyndham Rewards Rates rates, discounted nights, and points. If you have status with other programs such as Hilton Honors and Marriott Bonvoy, you can also status match. At a minimum, you need to be a member because it’s free to join.
- Special Wyndham offers – Make sure to check Wyndham Hotels deals frequently as they have seasonal offers and quarterly deals as well.
- Memberships and special status – They have permanent discounts for auto club members (AAA and CAA), government, seniors, military, and AARP members.
- Price match – It’s simple. If you find a lower price anywhere else, you can take advantage of their Best Rate Guarantee.
- Stay for free on points – When you redeem Wyndham Rewards points, you can get stays for free.
- Pay now and save – These are non-cancelable bookings but automatically get you a standard discount.
Now let’s go into each one so you know how they work.
How To Find The Lowest Rates At Wyndham
1 – Wyndham Corporate Codes
There are many companies that have corporate accounts with Wyndham Hotels. If you work for one of these companies, you may be eligible to use one of these codes.
Not all codes are created equal so you’ll have to check to see what type of discount your code gives you. You’ll also notice that the discounts can also be brand dependent. For instance, you might only see discounts for a Wyndham Garden but not Baymont.
All corporate rates have free cancellation 24 hours prior to 4 PM local hotel time. These are eligible for Wyndham Rewards points and status.
As an employee, make sure you know whether you’re allowed to use this for business (corporate travelers) or leisure travel.
PRO TIP: For simplicity, after clicking on “Check Prices”, the code is applied already. In addition, the code will also be copied to your computer or smartphone’s clipboard so you can paste it in.
How To Enter A Wyndham Corporate Code
As a Wyndham corporate code user, entering your code is quite simple when booking your room.
From the homepage, look for the “Special Rates” drop down in the search area. With the dropdown open, click the “Corporate Code” radio button and type in your special number. Click “Done” to proceed.
On the search results page, the prices that you see are the for the lowest rate but doesn’t necessarily mean that your corporate code yields any discount.
When the corporate code works – Select the property of interest and here is where you’ll see whether your corporate code works for the particular hotel. The name of the company will appear, confirming that the code worked. You’ll also see the other available rates.
When the corporate code doesn’t work or doesn’t apply – In this case, you’ll see the note above which says “The rate you requested is not available. Please see available rooms and rates below.”
Does Wyndham Check For ID?
In order to be eligible to use a Wyndham corporate code, you need to be an employee of the company. As a result, it’s possible that the front desk at check-in may ask for your ID.
Acceptable forms of identification are:
- Badge or pass with the company name and picture.
- Business card that includes your name and company.
- Email (printed or on the phone) showing your e-mail address with the company name.
Are Corporate Rates Cheaper?
You’ll be surprised to find out that the answer is “it depends”.
In many cases, the Wyndham corporate code will be the lowest price but there are other cases where a special promotion or in the case of the screenshot above, the “Wyndham Rewards Member Rate” is the cheapest.
Our recommendation is to always compare against all of the rates available, using official codes if eligible, and checking for current promotions.
Can You Earn Wyndham Rewards Points With Corporate Codes?
Even if you use corporate codes, you will still earn Wyndham Rewards points.
2 – Wyndham Rewards
Beyond the Best Available Rate and Pay Now & Save, an even better price is Wyndham Rewards Rate which is up to 15% off the Best Available Rate, so further savings. You’re only eligible for this rate if you are a Wyndham Rewards member.
In general, we’ve found that the Wyndham Hotel rates are usually better than what’s on Expedia and Booking.com. Hotel chains are actively trying to beat out platforms because they want customers to book directly as opposed to having to give a cut to others. That’s also why they have a price matching policy.
The Wyndham Rewards Rate is up to 15% off the Best Available Rate. Excluding corporate codes, this rate is usually the best price and effectively, it’s available for everyone.
All you have to do is sign up to be a Wyndham Rewards member and you can get access to this rate.
By being a member of the Wyndham Rewards program, you also get the following benefits depending on your tier level:
- Accelerated earning (10% for Gold, 15% for Platinum, and 20% for Diamond)
- Preferred room choice
- Early check-in and late checkout
As a Diamond member (unlocked after 40 nights), you also get access to suite upgrades, welcome amenity, and the ability to gift Gold to friends and family.
Wyndham has a basic 3-tiered award chart. Properties are grouped into one of the following redemption values:
- 7,500 points
- 15,000 points
- 30,000 points
As an alternative, they also offer a points and cash option if you don’t have enough points. This is called Wyndham go fast awards. The cost of points and cash varies from property to property.
In addition to redeeming hotel stays, you can also convert them to AAdvantage miles, Amtrak Guest Rewards points, Wyndham experiences (Wyndham Rewards go for it), merchandise, gift cards, and charitable donations.
You can also convert them to their point transfer partners that range from airlines, timeshare fees, and Caesars Rewards.

The first place you should always look to see what’s happening is the page below.
5 – Price Matching
An underrated way to get a great deal on hotels is by taking advantage of price matching. This is where you find a cheaper price elsewhere, bring it to Wyndham, and they give you 3,000 Wyndham Rewards bonus points on top.
Wyndham calls it their Best Rate Guarantee and it works very similar to other hotels.
I’ll be honest, this deal isn’t as good as Choice Hotels which gives you a $50 Reward Card, Best Western with a $100 gift card, or 25% off with Marriott and Hilton.
For ideas of where to look for lower rates, here are a few sites to check out:
The main condition of price matching is this:
- To count as a lower rate on a different site, it has to be at least $1.00 lower (not including taxes or fees. In some other cases, they allow 1% difference, but this is specifically a dollar less..
- The cheaper rate must be found on a website available to be booked by the general public within 24 hours of booking your hotel room.
- Your booking must be at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled check-in time on the first day.
- The lower rate has to be for the exact same criteria in terms of the hotel, room type, number of guests, date, and currency.
- The competitor rate can’t be behind a password or login.
- You can only submit one claim per person, per email address, per calendar month.
- This only applies to bookings in the United States, Canada, and EMEA regions.
- Special rates available only to members of membership clubs, affinity programs or other organization, such as AAA or AARP, private rates, rates involving a prepaid voucher program, rates that require a coupon or promo code, rates for hotel rooms sold as a part of a travel package, corporate discount rates, group rates (5+ rooms), meeting rates, and any other rate(s) not intended for the general public do not qualify.
After you fill out the claim form, someone from the Customer Care department will contact you within 24 business hours. If you fill it out outside of business hours, it’ll be processed the next day. Their normal hours are 7AM – 10PM CST.
Lastly, they recommend that you have the email conformation of the room rate change on-hand in case the system doesn’t have it reflected at check-in.
Once you complete your stay, the 3,000 Wyndham Rewards bonus points will be directly deposited into your account.
PRO TIP: Do your research ahead of time before booking anything on Wyndham. Once you find your lower price elsewhere, book on Wyndham and submit a claim right away. Make sure what you book is cancellable in case your claim is rejected.
6 – Stay For Free On Points
The best deal on Wyndham hotel stays is actually free. So how can you get free stays? This lies in the loyalty program whereby you accrue enough points so you can spend it on your trip.
What if you don’t have any Wyndham Rewards points? If you live in the United States, you can sisgn up for one of the Wyndham Rewards Earner cards. Each come with their own bonus points when signing up and if you play it right, this’ll quickly accelerate you to multiple free nights.
With 45,000 points, that’s 6 nights in a tier 1 property. There are roughly 2,400 properties that only cost 7,500 points per night.
For maximum value, check out the Club Wyndham Elysian Beach Resort or the Margaritaville Vacation Club in St. Thomas for 15,000 points per night. St. Thomas is normally very expensive but with 45,000 bonus points, you instantly get 3 free nights!
About The Wyndham Brand
Wyndham Resorts & Hotels as we know it today is actually a spin-off of Wyndham International and before that, Patriot American Hospitality, and originally Hospitality Franchise Systems in 1990.
They started with a portfolio of Super 8, Ramada, Howard Johnson, and Days Inn and layered in others that they acquired along the way.
Today, as Wyndham Hotels & Resorts since 2018, they have more than 9,200 hotels scattered across 95 countries, and is represented by 24 brands.
A unique partner with Wyndham is Caesars Rewards which brings in hotels and casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe, and Reno.
In our opinion, Wyndham Hotels is closely related to Choice Hotels and Best Western. In fact, Choice Hotels made a bid to acquire Wyndham back in 2023 which was declined.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Sweet Spots
We’ll be the first to admit that Wyndham Hotels are a little lower in our list of top hotel chains and when it comes to fancy aspirational properties. That said, their portfolio consists of more high quality, recognizable, and great value places than you think.
Below is a table of a few properties around the world that we’ve curated that are great hotels and resorts to consider.
This is but a taste of the kind of coverage they have around the world.
A handy tool is this Wyndham locations page but keep in mind that it doesn’t have every single property.
In addition to the properties themselves, Wyndham’s sweet spot is in the fact that they don’t differentiate between peak and non-peak times. This means that Wyndham Rewards points is handy to have during holiday season and in the summer.
PRO TIP: Don’t redeem your Wyndham Rewards points on low tier stays in economy brands. Instead, save them up for their resort properties and in cities and islands where cash stays are expensive.
Ways to Maximize The Wyndham Rewards Program
Wyndham is an underrated family of hotels and their loyalty program can provide outstanding value if you use them in the right places
Get More Wyndham Rewards Points
Building up Wyndham Rewards points may not seem easy but there are several strategies that’ll help you get those free stays in no time.
1 – Sign Up For Credit Cards
We mentioned his earlier but there are 3 levels of credit cards that Wyndham offers for those living in the US.
- Earner Visa – 45,000 bonus points, no annual fee, Gold status, 5 points per dollar on Wyndham stays and gas purchases.
- Earner+ Visa – 75,000 bonus points, $75 annual fee, Platinum status, 6 points per dollar on Wyndham stays and gas purchases.
- Earner Business Visa – 80,000 bonus points, $95 annual fee, Diamond status, 8 points per dollar on Wyndham stays and gas purchases.
There are no Wyndham credit cards in other countries.
PRO TIP: Sign up for these cards when you know you have big purchases ahead so you can make the minimum spend.
2 – Convert Points From Other Programs
The full list of transfer options from bank loyalty programs to Wyndham Rewards is below:
- Axis Bank (India only)
- First Abu Dhabi Bank (UAE only)
- Ping An (China only)
- CTBC (Taiwan only)
- CITIC (China only)
- Inbursa (Mexico only)
- Citi (US only)
- KTC (Thailand only)
- CommBank (Australia only)
- Hyundai Card (Korea only)
- HSBC (US, Mexico, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore & UK only)
- HDFC (India only)
- BNZ (New Zealand only)
- Ramp (US only)
With Wyndham’s partnership with Caesars Rewards, there is also a reciprocal agreement where you can transfer points back and forth 1:1
Is it worth it? Similar to what we said about Hilton Honors points, this isn’t the best value when it comes to transferring points from another program. This is mainly due to the fact that
How much are Wyndham Rewards points worth? Industry experts have put a 1.1 cent value per point.
3 – Accelerated Earnings With Status
Once you are attain Gold, Platinum, or Diamond status, you immediately unlock point accelerators.
- Gold – 10% bonus
- Platinum – 15% bonus
- Diamond – 20% bonus
This makes a difference if your main method of accruing Wyndham Rewards points is by completing stays.
4 – Buy Points
Buying points is normally not a good idea but similar to point transfers, if you’re short just a little for a big redemption, it’s worth considering this option.
You can buy points in increments of 1,000 points, starting with 1,000 points and up to a maximum of 100,000 points. The price is $13 USD for 1,000 points (1.3 cents each). Your annual purchase limit is a maximum of 100,000 Wyndham Rewards points.
PRO TIP: When purchasing points, wait for big promotions. They have offers where points are 25% off or you get 40% additional points.
5 – Earn With Partners
Wyndham Rewards offers a few special offers with partners that can help you earn extra points on the side.
- Shop And Earn – Wyndham has a special portal where you can earn bonus points if you shop online through their links. This is available in the US and UK.
- Go For It – If you book a tours or activities through their platform, you get 10 points per $1 spent.
- Avis and Budget – Save 35% off base rates and earn 100 Wyndham Rewards points per rental. You can also use Avis AWD K969130 or Budget BCD X793048 as you don’t have to use their platform to earn points.
- Opinion Rewards Panel – Earn 500 points after completing your first survey. This works the best if you’re from the US.
How To Get Instant Wyndham Rewards Status
Currently the two main ways to get Gold, Platinum, Diamond status are:
With status matching, if you have hotel loyalty program status with one of the other programs, you are eligible to have your Wyndham Rewards member level upgraded.
Every program has some form of status matching but what makes this a no-brainer for everyone are these rewards levels that are essentially free to get.
This might be the only program where they’re willing to price match base members automatically to Gold status.
There’s a catch though, you have to complete a certain number of stays in order to keep the matched level.
- Gold – Stay 1 night in 90 days
- Platinum – Stay 4 nights in 90 days
- Diamond – Stay 10 nights in 90 days
If you successfully complete the status matching challenge, you will keep that level through December 31 of the following calendar year. For instance, if you complete the challenge March 2024, you’ll keep that status until December 31, 2025.
Note: After a status match, you can’t then do status matching for Caesars Rewards.
Points-And-Cash
A great way to make your points go farther is to take advantage of points-and-cash redemptions. This is where you can spend a combination of points and cash.
The amount of points that are required for each property is tied to the 3 redemption tiers.
Redemption Tier | Points-And-Cash Redemption |
---|---|
7,500 | 1,500 + cash |
15,000 | 3,000 + cash |
30,000 | 6,000 + cash |
The amount of cash it costs will change depending on the property and their hotel rate.
This is a great scenario if you don’t have enough points.
Caesars Partnership
Wyndham teamed up with Caesars Rewards, unlocking a ton of casino properties with your membership.
Here are some of the perks that you can take advantage of:
- Status Match – You can match Diamond and Platinum status to the corresponding level in Caesars Rewards.
- Transfer Points – You can transfer Wyndham Rewards points to Caesar Reward Credits or vice versa.
- Earn Points – You earn 10 points per dollar or 1,000 points per stay (whichever is more).
- Redeem Points – You can redeem Wyndham Rewards points for stays at Caesars properties.
Vacasa Partnership
This partnership went a little under the radar but you can now redeem Wyndham Rewards points at Vacasa properties.
What is Vacasa? Vacasa is vacation rental platform that has over 15,000 properties available in North America (including Hawaii), Belize, and Costa Rica. It’s like VRBO but with a very specific footprint.
To redeem Vacasa stays, redemptions are 15,000 points per bedroom per night. If you’re booking a one-bedroom apartment, it’ll cost 15,000 points. For larger properties such as a 3 bedroom house, it’ll cost 45,000 points. For fancier properties, they now have 30,000 point tier now as well.
The other caveats are that it’s not obvious when blackout dates are, not all properties participate, and you have to book by calling.
Overall, this is a good way to redeem Wyndham Rewards points. For a redemption of 15,000 points for a nightly cost of $250, you’d be getting 1.67 cent value versus the 1.1 cent valuation.
Wyndham Hotels Is More Than Meets The Eye
Before this analysis, we didn’t know too much about the Wyndham family of resorts and hotels or the rewards program.
In terms of finding savings, in addition to corporate code savings, there are the standard ways to find hotel discounts, including their co-branded credit cards.
For those that don’t know too much about the brand, you’ll be impressed with the hidden sweet spots that Wyndham has in its properties and loyalty program. While they might not be the flashiest of properties, you’ll appreciate that redemptions are great during peak season and there are a lot of sneaky good ones around the world.

Travel Resources For Your Next Trip
If you’re in the process of planning your trip and putting together your itinerary, these are genuinely the best resources that the Going Awesome Places team stands by 100%.
Credit cards: Don’t get burned by hidden fees on top of terrible exchange rates. When we travel now, we use the Wise Card. Simply load it with the currency you need before you go and use it as a regular VISA or their digital wallet card. Use their free app to track how much you have and top up when you need to.
Flights: Of all the booking search engines, Skyscanner is the most helpful and easy to use thanks to their Everywhere feature. Kayak is also another that’s we will often check as well.
Car Rental: If you’re looking to save money, these car rental coupon codes will be a true game-changer. Otherwise, DiscoverCars and RentalCars are great places to start.
Airport Parking: You’ll need a spot to leave your car at the airport so why not book a spot at a discount. Use code AWESOME7 to get at least $5 off at Airport Parking Reservations or Park Sleep Fly packages.
Wifi Hotspot: We’ve been a huge fan of wifi hotspot devices such as PokeFi (use code GAP24300) because their rates are are hard to beat and it works globally. Solis is another that we recommend. Pros are that you can share the wifi with your whole group but cons are that you have to invest in a device and you have to charge it every night.
eSIM: Lately, we’ve really loved using eSIMs. We’ve tested several over the years and we have access to a few special promotions.
- KnowRoaming – Use code GAP10 to save 10%.
- AloSIM – Use code GOINGAWESOMEPLACES to save 15%.
- Airalo – Use referral code WILLIA9500 to get $3 USD credit on your first purchase.
- Ubigi – AWESOME10 to save 10% on your first order.
Hotels: Our go-to is Booking.com because they have the best inventory of properties including hotels and B&Bs plus they have their Genius tier discounts. Expedia is also worth using especially with their One Key rewards program which is basically like cash. The exception is Asia where Agoda always has the best prices. Always do a quick check on TripAdvisor as well.
Vacation Rentals: Your first instinct will be to check Airbnb but we always recommend checking VRBO as well if you’re looking for a vacation rental (now eligible for One Key).
Tours: When planning our trips, we always check both Viator and GetYourGuide to at least see what’s out there in the destination that we’re going to. They often have different offerings and prices so check both.
Travel Insurance: Learn how to buy the best travel insurance for you. This isn’t something you want to travel without.
- HeyMondo – Popular insurance provider for frequent travelers and comes with great coverage and special perks.
- RATESDOTCA – Search engine Canadians looking for the cheapest insurance including multi-trip annual policies.
- SafetyWing – A perfect fit for long-term nomads.
- Medjet – Global air medical transportation.
- InsureMyTrip – Best for seniors, families, and those with pre-existing conditions.
