Boy, do I have an amazing pancake recipe for you! These restaurant-style pancakes are absolutely delicious. I can almost guarantee everyone in your family (including yourself) will appreciate their moist and super fluffy texture.
I assure you: these pancakes are truly reminiscent of those from your favorite breakfast restaurant. They have the wholesome flavor and delicious taste, along with a pleasantly soft and moist texture. Trust me, you’ll savor every bite as I did. Can’t beat that, can ya?
What Makes These Pancakes Restaurant Style?
I know it’s a pretty big statement for me to compare these pancakes to those from a restaurant. But they definitely taste very similar. They have that melt-in-your mouth texture and buttery taste, without containing an unhealthy amount of butter.
Mostly everyone knows that butter makes most foods taste better. But unfortunately, it’s very high in saturated fat, which isn’t so good for one’s heart health. That’s why it’s best to avoid it in large amounts in foods when possible.
Not to badmouth restaurant pancakes, but you really can’t tell the amount of butter added to their pancakes or food in general. Fortunately, many restaurants do list nutrition facts on their menu nowadays – which really helps.
As for creating this pancake recipe, I hoped for the small amount of butter I added to shine through. And it really does! I only used one tablespoon of melted butter, and I must admit; you can definitely taste it in these pancakes.
Of course, you’re free to add more butter if you’d like; or according to your preferences. But in this case, I think the small amount of butter works perfectly. Let me know what you think, in the comments section below
Benefits of Making Your Own Pancakes From Scratch
With this pancake recipe, you’ll see how easy it is to make your own restaurant -quality pancakes from scratch. I actually grew up on boxed pancake mix (haven’t most of you too?)
There’s just a convenience and simplicity to making boxed pancake mixes, I must admit. There’s the kind where you just add an egg, oil and milk. Or there’s the complete kind, where you only have to add some water.
Honestly, these pancakes may take just a few extra minutes to make compared to a boxed version. One of the major benefits is that they’re just as easy and quick to make.
Another benefit is that they’re made with simple ingredients from your own kitchen. You can also customize them to your liking by adding in some chocolate chips, frozen or fresh fruit, chopped nuts, etc.
The final, and most important benefit of all, is that these are some of the most delicious pancakes you’ll ever eat.
How to Make These Pancakes..
I can’t say enough how easy this pancake recipe is. The process is very simple and straightforward. There’s really only two steps involved in making the batter for these pancakes. I do recommend letting the batter rest for about 10 minutes, for the best texture.
First of all, it’s best practice to get all your ingredients together beforehand. This helps with time management, and also helps you assess whether you have all the ingredients you need. No unexpected trip to the grocery store desired..
**The first step involves combining all of your dry ingredients thoroughly in a large mixing bowl.
**The second step involves adding the wet ingredients, including the egg (room temp preferred) to the dry ingredients. Make sure only to combine the batter till all of the flour is incorporated.
The batter won’t be completely smooth. There will be some tiny lumps, which is normal. Don’t worry – you won’t be able to taste them in the cooked pancakes, as they break down while cooking..
Restaurant-Style Fluffy Pancake Recipe Ingredients:
As I mentioned earlier, it only takes the simplest ingredients to make these delicious pancakes. The ingredients list is below, so you’ll know what you need; or already have on hand.
- All-Purpose Flour: I haven’t tried, but you can experiment with trying other flours. Just make sure to adjust the amount of milk, as necessary.
- Salt: A touch to bring balance to the flavor of the pancakes.
- Granulated (Cane) Sugar: You can choose to leave it out, if you’d like. It just adds a light sweetness to the batter.
- Baking Powder
- Baking Soda
- 1 Egg (Room Temperature): It’s best to use a room-temp egg over a cold one. The room temp egg will be easier to incorporate into the batter compared to a cold stiffer one.
- Vanilla Extract: This is an optional addition, but it adds warmth and extra flavor to the pancakes. And I believe it contributes to that restaurant-like flavor.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: Works with the other leavening ingredients (baking powder + baking soda) for even more fluffier pancakes. If you don’t have any on hand, that’s okay. The baking powder and baking soda will still do their part to ensure fluffy pancakes.
- Melted Butter: A small amount adds the perfect amount of buttery flavor. You can add a bit more if desired..
- Dairy or Dairy-Free Milk
